Stayed here for one night, which was ok. Good points: - The bed was comfortable - Hotel staff friendly and helpful - Very close the Carolus Thermen Spa Bad points: - The room was not part of the hotel and was across the road in another building. This resembled a building with flats. This meant you had to go across the road for the breakfast. Inside the building was cold with no heating. - Tiles on the floor in the room were cold, especially since there was no underfloor heating or any heat from other rooms. - Room could have been bigger - Breakfast had limited choice - Small bathroom

Over the past fifteen years this family run hotel has been consistently good and has never once let me down. The rooms are always pristine. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are helpful. The location is good for the town centre and it is only 2 minutes from the Carolus thermal spa. It is a relaxing place to stay.

Our room, or rather our studio, was located in a building opposite the hotel where the parking lot is. Having a small kitchen area in the room with a fridge is a real plus even if there are many restaurants near the hotel.

We wanted to book the hotel directly, unfortunately we didn't get any answers to our inquiries by email. We then booked through HRS. The confirmation stated that you had to arrive by 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. When we arrived at 1:30 p.m., we were told that check-in would not be until 2:30 p.m. However, our room was already ready, nicely furnished, comfortable bed with lots of pillows, minibar. The relatively new bathroom could have been cleaner (dust on the radiator). Unfortunately the TV had no picture. We were able to park our bicycles in a single garage free of charge. At breakfast (except for yoghurt, there was only pudding) everything was available. It was noticeable that each slice of sausage or cheese was cut in half again. The music in the breakfast room doesn't work at all (makes you depressed). The lady at the front desk was very friendly and everything went quickly. € 73 in a double room including breakfast is a reasonable price for this house.

Small beautiful privately run hotel in Aachen. Nice hosts, nice ambience, great breakfast. City center and train station within easy reach. We recommend. If Aachen again, then Hotel Granus...

The rooms are tastefully furnished, comfortable beds each with 3 pillows (I really appreciate that) and free coffee or tea. The bathroom is small, but nothing is missing. Unfortunately, the rooms (we were on the 3rd floor) face the street and it is therefore noisy (the new owner is not responsible for that, so I didn't take it into account in the rating). Unfortunately the wifi is very bad. The breakfast was lovingly prepared and I didn't miss anything.

Since the change we have booked the Hotel Granus twice for 2 nights each. In January we thought that the new staff would have to get used to the new situation and adjust to the guests. Unfortunately it was even worse in April and so disappointing that we will not be visiting again. At breakfast we were served tiny pieces of Camembert, shriveled cucumber and the cheapest packaged supermarket sausage. The lady who was supposed to pour the coffee was not only extremely inattentive and slow, but also unhygienic. She did not take the cups to the machine with the saucers, but only each guest's cup, which she repeatedly touched on the top edge of the cup that had already been drunk. At the coffee machine she ran her hands over her face and through her hair and then brought the full cups to the table, unsteadily (holding them by the edge). They also did not ask if you would like tea. There was no water either, instead a glass of juice was simply put out for each guest, whether you liked it or not. Rooms have been cleaner. I could continue the list endlessly, but that would only make me sadder. This lovingly run hotel no longer exists. What a shame.
