I was a bit worried it might be too old at first, but my actual stay was really pleasant. Even though the facilities are a bit dated, they're all very well-maintained and clean. I slept wonderfully this past week. The buffet breakfast was delicious too, giving me something to look forward to every morning. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to transportation, and there's a convenience store nearby.

We recently stayed at the Dinosaur Kingdom Family Room and transferred to a Premier Twin Room the following day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The staff were consistently kind, helpful, and accommodating, which we truly appreciated. We especially enjoyed the family room—it was thoughtfully designed and perfect for traveling with a young child. I had initially planned for a two-night stay in this room, but unfortunately, renovations were scheduled to begin the following day. This was a bit disappointing, as it made our time there feel quite short, especially with other activities already planned during our trip. In comparison to other five-star hotels we’ve stayed in, I did find the lack of flexibility with early check-in a bit surprising, particularly for the themed room. We had hoped to settle in earlier, and similarly, the following day’s transfer to the Premier room was not available early as it was fully booked. While this was different from what I’m used to, I do understand that this may be part of their standard protocol. On a positive note, we loved the buffet, and the rooms were very comfortable. The complimentary drinks were a nice touch, and the playroom area was excellent—clearly designed with families in mind. It was also lovely to see the hotel organizing activities for children. During our stay, there was a special event (like a children’s appreciation day?), where me and my baby were able to participate in arts and crafts and even received small prizes, which made the experience extra memorable. The swimming pool was decent, though not very large, and the water was quite cold, so we ended up enjoying the bathtub instead. One area for improvement would be cleanliness. We noticed visible dust in the room, which was concerning—especially since the room is designed for small children, and for someone like me who is diagnosed with allergies to multiple types of dust mites. I did raise this with Lara at the lobby, who kindly apologized and mentioned she would inform housekeeping. However, upon transferring rooms the next day, I still noticed dust in certain areas, which made me question the thoroughness of the cleaning. Separately, I also observed that some toiletries (such as conditioner and lotion) were nearly empty upon arrival, suggesting they may not have been checked or replenished prior to our stay. Despite these points, we genuinely had a pleasant experience overall and would consider returning. I’m also excited and curious to see what the next theme for the family rooms will be after the renovations.

The room was very clean, and the front desk service was excellent! They gave us very detailed travel advice. It's also in a very convenient location for sightseeing, with Longshan Temple and Mengjia Night Market nearby. There are some affordable local eateries right next to the hotel, and getting to Ximending and other attractions is super easy. The only downside is that the room layout is a bit awkward, as the bed faces the main entrance directly. A floor-to-ceiling window design would make the room much more comfortable.

Some hotels give you a room. Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei gave us a base for a trip we'll talk about for years. From the moment we walked in, the place felt considered, elegant without being cold, warm without losing its polish. That balance is rare, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Traveling with kids changes what matters most in a stay, and this hotel understood that instinctively. My children felt safe here, genuinely safe, the kind of safe that let them run ahead in the lobby and laugh without me flinching. Security throughout the property was excellent, present but never intrusive, the kind of quiet competence that lets a family actually relax instead of staying on guard. The location did the rest. Close enough to walk to some of Taipei's best food, the kind of meals that turn into stories you tell later, and near enough to the city's main sites that our days felt full without ever feeling rushed. Every outing started and ended easily, which meant more time enjoying Taipei and less time managing logistics. Back at the hotel each evening, the rooms were spacious, immaculate, and quietly luxurious, the kind of space that makes you want to slow down. Staff treated our kids with the same warmth and respect they showed us, which matters more than most hotels realize. This wasn't just a comfortable stay. It was a beautiful one, the kind that makes you rethink what a family trip can feel like when everything, safety, comfort, location, care, comes together the way it should. We left grateful, and we'll be back.

“A Grand Stay to Remember” I loved my time at the Grand Hotel. It's rich in history and spotlessly clean, and the staff were kind and polite throughout. I appreciated the little touches — water stations with both hot and cold drinking water for guests. Breakfast offered a wonderful variety, celebrating ********* food culture alongside dishes from other cultures. The hotel has a real sense of luxury. This is probably the most cost-effective hotel in Taipei. The room size is decent, but it's definitely showing its age. There was a stale, sweaty smell in both the room and the hallway. The executive lounge service was excellent, no complaints there. However, the front desk service on the first floor was absolutely terrible. An elderly lady couldn't hear what the staff member was saying, and the short-haired staff member repeated herself several times with extreme impatience, then threw things and rolled her eyes, which was quite disgusting. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and it was very noisy at night. The low service score is due to the front desk; the F&B and the executive lounge staff were all very professional.

The room facilities were well-maintained, and the front desk service was excellent. The hotel's location is superb, with convenient transportation. However, the deposit issue has been a hassle. It's been three weeks since I returned home, and more than 15 business days have passed, but the deposit still hasn't been refunded! I've contacted the hotel twice and my bank, but it's still unresolved! Usually, deposits are refunded instantly upon checkout. Hotel Papa Whale in Ximending is a good, quiet, original hotel for short stays, a 7 minute walk from the busy streets and ”The Red House”. I got this room for 1.125 NTD a night. But make sure you ask for a ”Double Elegant Room” on the third floor. The room I was first given on second floor smelled damp. I did not try the hotel dining or breakfast but you can walk from inside the hotel straight into a Starbucks for breakfast. The rooms have a unique, rough but elegant vintage industrial look with good size wall mounted TV, comfortable beds and nice three piece bathrooms with good water pressure. The rooms are clean but have vintage wear with many original details. I would stay again.

Here is a 300-word review you can paste into the Trip.Best survey for ILLUME TAIPEI. It covers hotel highlights, tips, and suggestions naturally. I had a pleasant stay at ILLUME TAIPEI and overall it was a good experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to Taipei Arena MRT station, restaurants, convenience stores, shopping malls, and supermarkets. It is easy to travel around Taipei by MRT or Uber, making it a great base for both business and leisure trips. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi connection was stable throughout my stay. I also liked the gym and swimming pool facilities, which were well maintained. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful whenever I had questions. A useful tip for future guests is that Taiwan has reduced the use of disposable amenities for environmental reasons. Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, comb, and other personal toiletries, as they may not be provided in the room. There are plenty of convenience stores nearby if you need to buy anything. There are many good food options within walking distance, including local ********* restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and night market snacks. Taipei Arena and nearby shopping areas are also worth visiting, especially in the evening. One issue I noticed was that the bathroom or toilet had a slight unpleasant smell at times. It would be great if the hotel could improve ventilation or perform more frequent maintenance to eliminate the odor. Everything else in the room was satisfactory. For Trip.Best, I think hotel rankings would be even more helpful if they included verified guest comments about cleanliness, noise level, bathroom condition, nearby transportation, and whether disposable amenities are provided. More accurate information about hotel promotions, nearby attractions, and special packages would also improve the booking experience. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at ILLUME TAIPEI and would consider staying here again because of its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly service.

Pros: Big room and great location right next to public transit and ximending. Hotel lobby and dining looks nice and clean. Cons: carpets in hallways have really old, huge stains. We found a cockroach in our room around midnight crawling by the vents on the ceiling. We couldn't reach it so we tried to call reception and the phone was busy for a good while. We finally went down in person to ask for some help and they said they would send someone in 10 minutes. Half an hour later we checked in again and just asked for a new room at this point since the roach had crawled into the vents and we didn't know when it would come out again. They finally sent someone to our room while we were packing and sprayed the room with a liquid that supposedly kills roaches. He targeted the vents where we last saw the roach, and a few minutes later the roach came crawling back out. Luckily our guy was still in the room and he caught it for us. We decided not to change rooms since we were leaving soon anyway. Who knows if the roach had a family up in the vents or not. Hotel did not check on us or ask about our experience during checkout.

Hygiene: There's a magnetic sticker on the door, so you can request daily cleaning. The housekeeping staff are incredibly efficient; the room was sparkling clean by the time I finished breakfast. Facilities: The room isn't small, and the window offers a view of Ximending street. It has a smart TV for screen mirroring, so you can watch Netflix and YouTube. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. Disposable slippers are provided, but not disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, or shower caps. The soundproofing is good, but the air conditioning fan is too loud, even on the lowest setting. The breakfast menu changes daily and is mostly Western. Free drinks and snacks are available from afternoon to evening. Environment: It's right next to Ximen MRT Station, and there's a bus stop nearby that goes to almost all city attractions. Ximending is just around the corner, very lively at night with lots of food options. Downstairs, there's a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven, an Animate manga store, and a Family Mart. Service: The front desk staff are all very patient and enthusiastic, with excellent service attitudes. Free luggage storage is available. Overall, it's a great hotel. No weaknesses.

It's just over 100 meters from Exit 1 of Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station, and only two stops from Taipei Main Station. Getting to Taoyuan Airport by express train takes less than an hour. There are multiple FamilyMart and 7-Eleven stores nearby, plus a Don Quijote. The hotel used to be a bank vault, so the decor is quite unique. They offer welcome drinks and a free snack buffet. It's only 500 meters from Fuhang Soy Milk and just 200 meters from Simple Kaffa, the world champion coffee shop, along with other cafes – all within walking distance. Huashan 1914 Creative Park is right next door. Overall, it's an incredibly convenient hotel. The soundproofing is decent; I slept well without much noise from the street or cars. The hotel feels very safe, perfect for solo travelers. Highly recommended!

I have visited Taiwan four times, and each time I have chosen to stay at City Suites Taipei Nandong. Everything about this hotel continues to exceed my expectations—from the wonderful staff and convenient location to the cleanliness and overall hospitality. During my stay back in May, I accidentally left behind a pair of reading glasses. When I returned several months later, I asked about them, knowing that after so much time they might no longer be there. I spoke with Tiffany at the front desk and gave her a detailed description of the glasses. To my surprise and delight, Tiffany went above and beyond to locate them, and my glasses were found and personally delivered to my room! Service like this is truly impeccable and is exactly what makes City Suites Taipei Nandong so special. Tiffany demonstrated genuine care, professionalism, and outstanding customer service. I sincerely appreciate everything she did for me. Thank you, Tiffany, for making my stay even more memorable. I look forward to returning to City Suites Taipei Nandong again in the future! Roly

The hotel room was cozy, with a smart toilet and a Japanese-style bathroom. The bed was the biggest I've ever slept in across all the hotels I've stayed at. If the soundproofing could be improved, especially for the room doors, that would be even better, as not everyone in a hotel has the same level of etiquette. I would definitely choose Mitsui Garden again next time. The hotel's location is only two stops from Taipei Main Station. It's just a 20-second walk from the MRT exit to the hotel. The breakfast spread was very generous, offering both Japanese and ********* options. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Most of the guests here are from Japan and Hong Kong.

I highly recommend this hotel. All the staff are very friendly and lovely. The rooms are clean, and the hotel is spotless; every floor smells nice. Plus, there's a kids' club for children to play in, and they provide instant noodles and snacks anytime. We went as a family of three (parents and child) and asked for extra pillows, which the hotel promptly provided. On the day we left, we forgot our child's doll, and the hotel kept it for us. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, you'll find a Sanrio-themed 7-Eleven, and right opposite that is the entrance to Ximen Underground Street. 📍 Location & Surroundings: The location is incredibly convenient, right near Taipei Main Station. The area is bustling with tons of options for food and souvenirs. However, it's worth noting that most places nearby are grab-and-go, so if you're looking for a sit-down restaurant, your choices might be more limited. 🎠 Unique Lobby & Family-Friendly: The reception lobby on the 4th floor is very unique, with a charming American retro and playful design, and it even has a kids' play area. The lobby thoughtfully provides free bottled water, hot and cold beverages, afternoon tea snacks, and various treats. The kids had a fantastic time playing here! 🛏️ Room Space & Design (A bit disappointing): The room space was smaller and more basic than expected. There was only one chair in the room, so if two people wanted to sit and relax, they had to take turns. Also, the room's design wasn't very practical; for instance, the desk wasn't facing the TV, making watching TV a bit awkward.

We enjoyed the quiet ambience and respectful service by the various staff. The in-room onsen bath is a highlight of the stay. And the beds (we had a large king) was simply divine. The mattress topper was superb, firm and yet supportive and comfortable. The variety of pillows available made our sleep sweet. I have to commend the quality of bedding - it is excellent! It was a bit annoying.) Service: omg our room was maintained well and I told the front desk my partner is celebrating his bday and they sent some gifts to our room! Shuttle bus from mrt station was on time, reception service was great. Room was dimly lit for the intended ambience. Use a swimwear that you intend to toss afterwards because of the sulphur smell cus the milktea looking onsen water smell will linger. Outdoor onsen was much better than private room onsen because of the view and rainy-cooling weather. Felt like heaven soaking in their 39-43 degree celcius hot pools & their cool pools. Kinda far from the restaurant/ eateries outside so prepare to take the shuttle bus out or uber, if not you can just pay more for the japanese restaurant. Travel adapters can be borrowed at a refundable 200NTD deposit. Overall, I believe this is the best “outdoor” onsen experience in Beitou. But i’m sure there are better indoor options.

Nestled in a quiet and secluded part of Beitou, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently located near attractions such as the Beitou Library and local market. The service was warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The attentive staff remembered small details that made us feel especially well cared for, such as our shuttle bus bookings and even my preferred drink, which was served to me each morning when I arrived at the restaurant for breakfast. The shuttle bus drivers were also extremely friendly and always looked out for our comfort and well-being. Breakfast was served semi-buffet style, with a delicious spread. Whenever we get the chance, I try to take my family on trips while we can still gather together. This time, we visited Yangmingshan and Beitou, and it was actually my first time truly staying in Beitou. Before, most of my visits here were for work, like setting up a stall at the Beitou Market, always a quick in-and-out. But I've always heard great things about Beitou's hot spring hotels, and my mother often mentioned this place, so I arranged this short trip for the weekend. We stayed at Hotel Royal Beitou, and it was my first time experiencing the 'Hotel Royal' brand. In the past, I'd only dined at their properties in Taitung and Jiaoxi, and my impression of the brand has always been one of quality and meticulous service. After actually staying there, it certainly lived up to its reputation. From the facilities to the service, you could feel their attention to detail. The activities arranged by the hotel, in particular, were quite different from typical hot spring hotels – things like escape rooms, yoga classes, and night tours made the stay more than just a place to sleep for a night. The rooftop hot spring bath, though not huge, had a very comfortable atmosphere. It's a shame you couldn't see much of the scenery at night; otherwise, it would have been even better. Since we love hot springs, we really pay attention to the amenities and toiletries. The lounge here offers iced tea and ice cream, and the toiletries in the bathing area are top-notch, even including scalp and facial care products. Also, the room used a 'Sleeptofu' mattress and pillows, which were incredibly comfortable – easily one of the best night's sleep I've had recently. The only minor downside was that parking fees were an additional cost. For accommodation priced close to ten thousand per night, having to pay extra for parking feels a bit disappointing.

If you're looking for an awesome hot springs hotel, this could be a one. One it's a bit older and not super foreigner friendly. But if you speak some simple Chinese or you're willing to use a translator app, this place is pretty dang cool. You'll find locals who have memberships at the Hot springs there. The outdoor Hot spring is really cool and the water is 100% real Hot spring water so it's got that sulfur smell. I recommend getting a room with your own hot spring. This way, no matter what day you arrive, if there's anything about the hours not working at the public hot spring, you still have the opportunity to enjoy it. It's no five star brand new Hilton inn. But it's comfortable, sanitary and has a nice homey vibe. If you're staying for more then one day, I recommend that you tried the the local markets for a breakfast one day. The hotel breakfast is satisfactory. You'll see some buns, some rice, soy milk, a few vegetable options, some sausages, and a little bit of Western food. Very simple and gets the job one if you're not in the mood to explore. I came alone and I felt safe in a really enjoyed my time. I recommend you hike some of the local trails. There is some pretty epic hiking in this area. Don't be afraid to explore!!!

A Serious Failure in Management and Guest Service I have never experienced this level of poor service and lack of management oversight at a hotel. Throughout my stay, I had to repeatedly request housekeeping, yet my room was still not cleaned as expected. More seriously, there was even an occasion when I needed to use the bathroom and discovered that there was no toilet paper available. I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the front desk. However, despite making a formal complaint, the exact same problem occurred again the following day. At that point, this could no longer reasonably be considered a simple oversight or an isolated housekeeping mistake. The hotel had already been made aware of the problem, yet nothing appeared to have been done to prevent it from happening again. The most disappointing part is that these issues continued until the day I checked out. After repeatedly reporting the same problems without seeing any meaningful improvement, I eventually stopped complaining simply because I no longer believed that doing so would make any difference. A hotel may occasionally make a mistake — that is understandable. What is unacceptable is failing to correct a problem after a guest has already brought it to management's attention. This reflects a serious breakdown in communication between departments, inadequate supervision, and a lack of accountability at the management level. Basic housekeeping and essential bathroom supplies are not unreasonable requests. They are fundamental standards that guests should be able to expect without having to repeatedly chase the hotel for them. What concerns me most is that the hotel appeared to have multiple opportunities to correct the situation, yet failed to do so. This suggests that the issue is not simply with an individual staff member, but with the way the hotel’s service operations are being managed and supervised. This experience seriously damaged my trust in the hotel and left me with a very negative impression of its overall management and service standards. A hotel’s reputation is built on how it treats guests, especially when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, in this case, the hotel failed not only to deliver basic service, but also to respond effectively when those failures were brought to its attention. I sincerely hope management does not dismiss this as a minor housekeeping issue. The repeated nature of these problems, combined with the lack of effective follow-up, represents a significant management failure and can seriously damage guest trust, customer satisfaction, and ultimately the hotel’s reputation. For me, the most disappointing part was not that a mistake happened. It was that the hotel was given multiple opportunities to fix it — and chose not to.

Overall, the stay was satisfying. The room quality, cleanliness, service attitude, and the delicate Japanese hospitality all demonstrated the standard expected of a five-star hotel. The only minor letdown was the somewhat underwhelming food selection in the executive lounge. During my stay, it was largely the same few dishes, lacking variety. The quality and sophistication didn't quite reflect the value expected of an executive floor, and it felt a bit perfunctory, missing any standout highlights. As an executive lounge in a five-star hotel, I believe that an improvement in dish rotation, ingredient quality, and plating details would enhance the guest experience and better meet guests' expectations for an executive lounge. Overall, it's still a quality hotel worth revisiting, and I look forward to seeing further improvements in the executive lounge in the future.

Every year, I return to Taiwan and stay in different hotels due to various circumstances (also because I like to try new things). This year, Eclat Hotel pretty much solidified my future choices in Taipei. The location is unbeatable (I changed my flight due to a typhoon, so I randomly picked it without paying much attention to the address, just saw it was Zhongxiao East Road and went for it). Turns out, it's right on Zhongxiao East Road, in the Dinghao commercial district, with excellent access to everything. I even walked to Yanji Street every night for late-night snacks. Downstairs, there's a beverage shop on each side, and directly across the street is the 24-hour Jingxing Teahouse. Don't even get me started on Starbucks and bakeries. The subway entrance is right outside the door. The rooms are spacious and quiet, and the 13th and 14th floors are high enough. It's positioned as an economy hotel (inn), so unless you absolutely need a luxurious and bright lobby, I honestly can't think of a reason not to stay here again, haha. If I had to find a flaw, I'd offer a small suggestion: Could we... perhaps... upgrade the TV in the room to a larger one? (laughs)

Location was 3 mins from the train station which takes you to most places and around the area there are lots of shops, restaurants and a market, it’s about 15 minutes walk from the popular food night market. The hotel also has a motel attached and we stayed in the motel which has its own car park. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was massive with Jacuzzi tub, steam shower and sofa. It’s a bit dark in the room itself and free bottles of water provided. The breakfast wasn’t great but doable if included in the price. Sound proof was good, never heard anyone and there was a big karaoke place next door. The room does need a bit of maintenance as you can see it’s a bit worn down and the only light comes from the bathroom but it’s opposite a residential building so can’t really have the curtains up if your not dressed. There’s no door to the bathroom only a curtain which I find a bit at strange. Staff was friendly and check in and check out went smoothly. The hotel is quite far from the MRT station (even though the information says it’s a 5-minute walk it actually feels longer than that). However, taking the bus is much more convenient since the bus stop is less than a 2-minute walk from the hotel. There’s also a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart about 3 minutes away. The room size was decent. The walls weren’t very soundproof, as I could hear noise from the room next door and upstairs. Housekeeping didn’t change the bed sheets or pillowcases during my stay only the duvet cover and bathroom towels were replaced. However, since the room wasn’t particularly messy, I wasn’t too bothered by it. There are washing machines on the rooftop, which was very helpful, especially if you travel during rainy days (I experienced rain for 2 days and 2 nights out of my 4-day trip 😂). Overall, it was worth the price.

The service, food, hot spring tub were excellent and the staff was very attentive. The only thing I wish could have been better is the outlets to plug my phone into. We couldn’t find one in the bedroom/sleep quarters (Japanese tatami). So make sure to bring a portable charger if you don’t want to be away from your phone. Another advice would be more of a treat if they provided a face mask and sleep wear. The reason I’d suggest this is because another competitor hotel of theirs provided very considerate toiletries for the ladies and I think that was a HUGE plus for me considering we spent a lot of money for one night. Anyways, overall villa 32 is great if you just want to spend a few hours to relax.

I had a fantastic stay at Capella Taipei and would 💯 percent recommend.   Room: bed was super comfy. Love the Dyson hairdryer. Thank you for the lovely cake and balloons. Totally exceeded my expectations.  Breakfast menu: menu was limited but dishes were thoughtfully curated and of high quality. It was an indulgence to have oysters for breakfast.  Truly appreciate the lovely birthday surprise gift from the Capella team! Capella Moments: what a great idea to provide the cultural Immersion experience for guests.  Staffs are the life and soul of any brand so here’s a shout out to:  Shuang Shuang, teacher for the Hakka umbrella activity.  She was so encouraging and patient. Judy, another teacher weaved a bookmark specially for me!  Jason, Culturalist was knowledgeable about Taiwan history and Capella’s heritage.  I learnt so much from him during the morning ritual.  The staffs at the Living room and night ritual were friendly and accommodating.  Truly impressed with the Capella team for making this stay so unforgettable!  You have a winning team at all levels who is passionate in how they show up for the brand, for the guests.  It’s evident they want to delight and exceed expectations.  I hope to be back very soon.

I had an exceptional stay at Éclat Hotel Taipei. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed with high-end touches like a Dyson hair dryer and a Nespresso machine. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional, making the check-in process seamless. I also loved the location it’s in the heart of Da’an District, very close to the MRT and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and convenience stores. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Taipei!

It was very comfortable, and the receptionist was very friendly. However, I felt the air conditioning wasn't cold enough. Or maybe it was because I didn't know how to adjust it. But everything is good. THANKS YOU.Maybe I'll stay again later

Spacious rooms and great bath facilities This hotel seems particularly well-suited for those who enjoy taking baths. The staff were kind. A multilingual female staff member (Korean, English, Chinese) was especially helpful. The location is a bit halfway—it's about one or two bus stops from the MRT. It was a bit far, but not impossible to walk, so I usually just walked. The rooms are large and offer good value for the price. One thing to note is that the area behind the hotel is a Japanese-style nightlife district.

Our overall stay at the Hotel Junpin was excellent. The location is incredibly convenient, right near Taipei Main Station, making it easy to access the High-Speed Rail, regular trains, and the MRT. The hotel's decor has a distinctive European vintage style, and the common areas have a great ambiance. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. The bed provided good support, and the soundproofing was above average, so we had a very restful night's sleep. The staff were friendly and attentive. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and they were quick to assist us whenever we had questions. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, both Western and Chinese, and the overall quality was good. One minor point to note is that some of the design elements are quite strong, so it might not appeal to those who prefer a bright, modern style. However, considering the location, service, and comfort of the accommodation, it's still highly recommended. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Taipei.

This Hotel is a perfect choice, rooms are very spacious, bathroom is huge, location is great, it's close and easy to walk to Zongshan MRT station and this area has lots of great retail stores and restaurants , Taipei main station is walk-able around 1.2Km but if you are tired you will take a taxi, very convenient to take the express MRT from airport to Taipei main station in 35 minutes, there is a big supermarket right next to the hotel having very good stuff, there are a lot of 7 eleven and family mart stores around you, if you are a gym guy there are lots of 24h gyms near the hotel...also there is a 24h self service laundry store in front of the hotel....breakfast is great, I'm a egg lover guy and they serve perfect scrambled eggs, they also serve pineapples, passion fruit, home made yogurt and lots of good stuff, they have some Chinese items that you may not like, overall their breakfast is perfect....you can enjoy 24h free freshly brewed coffee at their lobby whenever you want and it's great....the only downside I noticed in their rooms is the lake of power outlets, there is only one row of power outlets on the front desk of the room, there are no outlets beside your bed or any where else which was really uncomfortable if you would like to charge your mobile or laptop while sitting on the bed.....sorry for my long review but I just enjoyed my stay there and wanted to share my experience in details

The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect, right at the center of Ximen but away from the busy crowd. We booked the twin room with 2 single beds with no window. The room is quite small and basic but we fell in love with the bathroom, minimalist but modern and very clean. Adding a cabinet or small.closet to hang the clothes and put the luggage would be perfect. Overall, we had a positive experience staying in Artotel.

The hotel is very close to Ximending and Taipei Main Station. The front desk, luggage storage, and other services were excellent. It's an older building that's been recently renovated, and overall it's pretty good. The only downside is the incredibly slow internet.

It was my first time in Taipei, and the front desk staff upgraded our room to one with a 101 view (don't be shy about asking, they'll do their best to accommodate you!). The service was excellent; someone always opened the door for us when we entered. The room was very clean and odorless, and the bed was large and comfortable. It took me until the third night to realize it was actually two beds pushed together 😂. I have no idea where they got the duvet, but it was 2 meters long and incredibly cozy! The hotel is very close to the subway station and not far from attractions. I specifically chose the option without breakfast because I can never wake up early enough. When we checked in, there was a small Coke and a Pocari Sweat that were complimentary! At 900 RMB per night, it's a good price for this location. If I come to Taipei again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

Amazing hotel, best I've stayed in Taipei thus far! Location: By far not the nearest hotel to the city center, and require a bit of walking to the nearest bus stop/mrt station. But have a good selection of vibey cafe at the back of the hotel. Room: The room was very clean and comfortable. The layout was very spacious with provision of water and even a Nespresso machine for a quick pick-me-up. The beds were super comfortable and the room even came with a JBL speaker for you to play your songs on the radio too. Toilet: Cleanliness was a 10/10. Love the interesting layout, the shower pressure was perfect and the toilet itself comes equipped with an automatic bidet and a variety of functions. Shampoo and soap was also quite good. Did not manage to try the bath tub. Breakfast: Don't skip out on the breakfast buffet!! Even though we were in Taipei looking for local food, the buffet is worth it! Last order at 10am, there is the standard buffet spread with some of Taiwan's classic (卤肉饭/Lu Rou Fan). But the main star is the buffet menu, there are 6 dishes to order from omelette, scramble eggs, chicken thigh .etc. The main thing is the beef noodles, super delicious, with a clear and thick broth and a healthy portion of noodles and meat. Staff: The hotel's staff are super courteous and friendly, welcoming us to the hotel and giving a homely vibe to the stay. They are also super efficient, tidying our room up when we went down for breakfast, the room was spotless with towel replacements in less than 30 mins. Would stay here again!

Important and Must-Know Tips for Taking the Taoyuan Airport MRT

Here are some useful tips for Filipino travellers taking the Taoyuan Airport MRT for the first time.

  • Take the Express Train for Faster Travel: The purple Express Train takes around 35–39 minutes between Taoyuan Airport and Taipei Main Station, making it a convenient option for reaching central Taipei.
  • Check the First and Last Train Times: Airport MRT services do not operate 24 hours. Check the timetable in advance, especially if you have an early morning or late-night flight.
  • Use an EasyCard: An EasyCard allows you to pay for Airport MRT rides and other public transportation services without buying separate tickets.
  • Check Your Airport Terminal: Terminal 1 uses A12, while Terminal 2 uses A13. Make sure you board or exit at the correct station.
  • Allow Extra Time Before Your Flight: Leave enough time for the MRT journey, airport check-in, baggage drop, and security procedures.
  • Stay Near an MRT Station: Booking a hotel near Taipei Main Station or another convenient MRT station makes airport transfers and sightseeing easier.
  • Check the Train Destination: Some Express services have different stopping patterns. Always check the platform display before boarding.
💡 Pro Tip: If you're travelling with large luggage, take the Express Train and choose accommodation near Taipei Main Station for a more convenient airport transfer.
