Art historian Theresa Tan talks about the ways of seeing abstract art for the series “Estetika Timur – Rentas Sempadan” (Eastern Aesthetics – Cross Border). Tan will guide you through his journey, explaining how “Estetika Timur” has evolved from previous works and where he envisions it heading in future series. Awang Damit Ahmad (1956) is one of Malaysia’s foremost contemporary artists. His work is deeply rooted in his personal experiences, cultural background, and the broader Malaysian socio-political landscape. His journey as an artist began with a formal education in the arts at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in the late 1970s. His transition into the art world was marked by the intersection of traditional Malaysian culture with modernist concerns, a thematic focus that would later culminate in his renowned Essence of Culture (EOC) series and later to his Estetika Timur series. Estetika Timur - Rentas Sempadan” (Eastern Aesthetics - Cross Border) - Awang Damit Ahmad is presented by ART SEASONS and Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers (HBAA). Estetika Timur – Rentas Sempadan (Eastern Aesthetics - Cross Border) series emphasises Eastern aesthetics, but not merely in a superficial or ornamental sense. It reflects an engagement with the cultural and philosophical traditions of the East, particularly in the context of Malaysia’s diverse and pluralistic society. The artworks are rooted in a reflective self-referential experience, representing a journey that captures the essence of a farmer's humble livelihood. Through the principles of simplicity, harmony, and balance, these works balance figuration and abstraction, exhibiting a dynamic range between the intimate and expressionistic, as well as the intellectual and intuitive. The artworks explore fundamental human values, alongside broader societal, cultural, and environmental concerns, informed by rigorous research, personal experiences, and memory. Collectively, they form an ongoing artistic exploration, continually seeking deeper meaning and value in life.

Jewel Changi Airport is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex located in Singapore Changi Airport. Its core is the world&#39;s tallest indoor waterfall &quot;Rain Vortex&quot;, and its surroundings are arranged in a stepped forest. Construction began in December 2014 and officially opened on October 18, 2019, with a construction cost of 1.7 billion Singapore dollars.

Jewel Changi Airport has gardens, attractions, hotels and about 300 retail stores and restaurants. The total floor area is 135,700 square meters, with a total of 10 floors, including 5 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. Among the attractions, there are Shiseido Forest Valley, an indoor garden up to 5 floors, and the Starry Sky Garden on the top floor. Jewel Changi Airport has about 300,000 visitors per day.

🚝T1, T2, and T3 are interconnected, and you can also take the sky train between the three terminals (free of charge).
But please note that you can only see the waterfall when you go back and forth between T2 and T3 (T2-T3 left window, T3-T2 right window)

🚃If the flight is at T4, you can check in at other terminals first, and then take the airport shuttle to T4

Tips:
The attractions in the airport are all outside the customs, and you have to check in before you can visit them, but Jewel Changi Airport is inside the customs of Singapore, and you can only go there after entering Singapore. So if you are traveling in Singapore, you can go early on the day of your return trip and visit Jewel Changi Airport for half a day

Sentosa Island is very good, the theme park has more projects, Jurassic Park, Xiaohuangren, etc. On the island, the ecology is mainly good, there are many birds, and I have seen seagulls, peacocks and lizards. The accommodation is more expensive. The hotel does not provide breakfast. Others are OK.
