By connecting historically inequitable policies to present-day harm, the timeline demonstrates the positive impact that policies centered around racial justice can have for all Floridians. Inspired by Heather McGhee's book, "The Sum of Us," the timeline serves as a resource for fact-based information, helping Floridians learn from the policy past to shape a better future.

To further their mission, The Florida Timeline invites you to a free event on October 24, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Historic Lyric Theater in Miami, FL. This evening of art and advocacy will feature a showcase of culturally impactful artwork that connects to policy, history, racial equity, and the vision of shared prosperity. Additionally, a panel discussion will bring together artists and policy analysts to share their perspectives on the past, present, and future of policy decisions. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy light food and drinks, support and purchase local art, and learn how artists use their work to educate and create positive change. The event will also provide insights into The Florida Timeline's focus on education and worker justice policy areas.
