Founded in 2017, the Seoul Biennale is a testbed for exploring fresh solutions to some of the most compelling issues facing major global cities today. So far, it has involved nearly 3 million people in four editions over the last seven years. The 5th edition will be curated by Thomas Heatherwick, who was appointed General Director of the 2025 Biennale by Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
The 2025 programme will explore how to make buildings and cities radically more joyful and engaging, channeling the city’s ambition for a human-centered, climate-friendly future. This theme will be brought alive through a dramatic new public installation and a programme of events and activities.

you can climb up on foot in about 1.5 - 2 hours, from the side of Myeongdong there is a nice village, which is worth a walk. If you have a hard time climbing, it is better to use the funicular. Also, there are almost no kiosks selling water along the way

Walking in the streets of Seoul, Gyeongbokgung Palace is like a shining pearl, quietly telling an ancient story. Stepping into the palace gate, it seems to travel through time and space, and the quaint buildings shine solemnly in the sun.

Walking along the Junghwajeon, every brick and tile carries the weight of history. The cultural relics displayed in the palace silently tell the glory and vicissitudes of the Joseon Dynasty. I stood in front of the palace, looking up at the tall building, and a feeling of awe surged in my heart.

Walking in the garden in the palace, the trees are green and the flowers are blooming. The koi in the pond are leisurely and contented, as if they are also enjoying this quiet time. I strolled along the corridor, admiring the surrounding scenery and feeling the perfect fusion of history and nature.

Gyeongbokgung Palace is not only a palace, but also a witness to a period of history. Here, I seem to see the rise and fall of the Joseon Dynasty, and feel the unique charm of Korean culture. This is an unforgettable trip, which gave me a deeper understanding of Korean history and culture.
