In the early decades of the 20th century, automobile ownership saw tremendous growth in the United States—with one motor vehicle per every five Americans by 1929—and a new motoring landscape evolved to accommodate the increase in car travel. For over a century, civil engineers, automotive designers, architects, and graphic artists have worked, often without credit, to create highway systems and the vehicles that traverse them, along with standardized signage and roadside amenities that have become so commonplace that they are largely taken for granted.
Modern and contemporary artists, however, have long noticed and been inspired by the world in which the automobile operates and have responded to it in their work. Eyes on the Road brings the often-overlooked “art” of the highway together with artistic representations of this visual culture, highlighting the role of the car in shaping the country’s built environment and drawing new attention to the world around us.

We only went to the ordinary park, but the roller coasters still made the 18-year-old and 8-year-old very happy. My middle-aged mother liked the submarine and Star Wars adventure. On New Year&#39;s Eve, we played almost all the attractions from the opening to the closing time.

The historic Santa Monica pier, like a kind old man, quietly waited for the sea. My mom, youngest brother Luke &amp; I went here for the first time Summer of 2012 to celebrate my 8th grade graduation. I discovered this park because I grew up going to Six Flags St. Louis with my parents, friends, &amp; Luke as my home park frequently since I was about 8 years old &amp; became more of a thrill seeker first with SFSTL, then Six Flags Great America, and I  used to go on the Six Flags website because I was curious about seeing parks in other states &amp; seeing what kind of rides the other parks had to offer &amp; discovered Six Flags Magic Moutain as I was browsing &amp; thought this park looked like so much fun, which it really was! My mom took my youngest brother Luke to meet the Looney Tunes characters &amp; Hurricane Harbor waterpark since he wasn&#39;t tall enough yet to go on the major thrill rides while I went on lots of amazing rollerocasters with Val, someone who used to babysit for us whenever she was able to. We stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn right across the street from the park, took a picture of X2 which could be seen from our hotel, palm trees in the parking lot, &amp; our elevator had Looney Tunes characters on it which made the Hilton Garden Inn Unique! My dad was also excited for us because Six Flags Magic Mountain is the park featured in his favorite movie, National Lampoon&#39;s Vacation &amp; is only about an hour and 40 minutes from Santa Monica beach! Six Flags Magic Mountain is located in Valencia, California.
