Canton Modernpresents twentieth-century Cantonese art and visual culture in its full complexity as an important chapter in global modernism. United in a shared linguistic and cultural identity, the southern port cities of Guangzhou (also known as Canton) and Hong Kong were historically marginal in China. The birthplace of revolution, the two cities gave rise to a distinctive visual and artistic modernism, one shaped by cross-cultural interactions and tensions between conservative and progressive artworlds. Cantonese artists broke away from the elegant poetics of classical ink painting to forge a socially oriented realism, depicting subjects ranging from leisure and labour to war and disaster. Working as journalists and publishers, they exploited the immediacy and circulation of print, photography, and cartoons to intervene in and even reform society.

I was a bit skeptical about taking the Peak Tram, however, I really enjoyed the ride. The scenery going up the hill is fascinating, and going on a Tuesday afternoon in June I did not find any queue or crowd. It was a sunny and clear day and the view from both the tram and the Sky Terrace was amazing. The fact that there are two shopping areas with restaurants makes the experience even more convenient, also to have a break from the outside heat. I think it is a must see for first timers in HK like me.

Very good, especially at night, to buy a rooftop, otherwise you can&#39;t take Victoria Harbour, when the weather is good, go early to the official camera next to grab the location.

I don&#39;t think anyone would fly from Beijing to Hong Kong just to see the Forbidden City exhibition, right? Yes, that person is me. Many of the exhibits here are from the Palace Museum, and of course, they are also donated by celebrities from all walks of life. Although it cannot directly show the majesty of the Forbidden City, it provides tourists with a brand new perspective of the Forbidden City.

The M+ Museum of Hong Kong is a benchmark for Asian visual culture! The building itself is an artwork, and the huge horizontal space is intersecting with the Victoria Harbour skyline. The exhibition broke the framework of traditional art galleries, with pioneering experiments by contemporary Chinese artists and cross-border dialogues on global design, architecture and imagery. Especially recommended is the exhibition &quot;Hick Collection&quot;, which is a concentrated history of Chinese contemporary art. The top floor garden can enjoy the magnificent view of Victoria Harbour, and the cultural and creative shops are unique in their selection. Although some exhibition areas are slightly chaotic, it has become the most dazzling pearl in the West Kowloon Cultural District.
