Adriana Chartrand, a mixed race Native woman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, will discuss her debut novel at the Mississauga Library's Author Talks series. Her father, of Red River Métis descent, and her mother, a white settler, influenced her chilling horror story, "An Ordinary Violence." The novel follows a young Indigenous woman grappling with the haunting legacies of colonization. With two degrees in film studies and a background in social work, Adriana currently resides in Toronto and works in the film industry.

Author Talks: Adriana Chartrand at Hazel McCallion Central Library on June 26, 2024, offers an opportunity to engage with talented writers. Attendees can listen to authors read excerpts from their works, delve into the writing process, and explore the art of storytelling. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream option is available. Registrants will receive a link 24 hours before the program for virtual participation. Admission to the event is free.
