About the featured artist:
Carolina Yáñez (b. 2001, Austin, Texas) is a Tejana interdisciplinary artist and activist working with various mediums to explore ideas regarding Tejano culture and politics, history, place, gender-based issues, mental illness, environmentalism and how they all intersect in her identity. She utilizes photography and video, fiber, ceramics, and print in her practice.
She has been named a 2024 Resident Artist of the Mexic-Arte Museum’s Changarrito Residency and an Artist in Residence for the non-profit JOLT, a statewide organization in Texas organizing young Latinos around the power of their voice, vote, and stories.
She received her BFA in Photography and Digital Media from the University of Houston in 2023, and MFA in Art from SMU in 2025.

The Cathedral is a Latina-owned art gallery, event space, and boutique workspace located in a beautifully restored 1930s church in East Austin. As the home of atxGALS, the city's largest collective of women and nonbinary artists, The Cathedral features a dynamic range of artwork throughout the year, alongside hosting unique, art-centered events.

As a regular tourist thought the process of entering the Parliament House was very cumbersome, but I didn&#39;t expect to check the bag I took with me to visit. Built in 1885, the building covers 51 acres and was designed by architects modeled on the Capitol in Washington, DC, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986. Amazing the passing of the world does not affect its appearance and internal structure, as always brand new, visitors can visit the government office, have time to visit around the building outside, from all angles to enjoy the century-old building.
