Join Bethan Mair Williams for a guided tour of the Taloi Havini exhibition at Artes Mundi 10. This unique tour, presented in Welsh, offers an overview of Taloi Havini's work and explores the personal connection between Bethan and the artist and her family. Bethan, currently residing in North Wales, has a deep understanding of the cultural influences that shape Taloi Havini's artistic expression, thanks to her early childhood experiences in Bougainville. Immerse yourself in the intricate narratives and complexities of Taloi Havini's art, as we delve into the artist's personal journey and the cultural context that informs her work. Due to limited spaces, additional staff will be available to assist and welcome visitors on the day. For any additional assistance or inquiries, please email letty.clarke@artesmundi.org. Taloi Havini, hailing from the Nakas people of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (part of the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea), uses various mediums such as photography, sound, video, sculpture, installations, and print to reflect her family history and connections to the land and communities in Bougainville. Central themes in her work include knowledge production, transmission, inheritance, mapping, and information dissemination, all explored in the context of land, architecture, and place. Don't miss this captivating exhibition, taking place at MOSTYN in Llandudno. Entrance is free of charge.
