ABOUT THE EVENT Essex Director, along with its sister publications, Suffolk Director and Norfolk Director, are part of the UK Director magazines portfolio which all have one very simple aim, to help you run your business better. Our Abberton Home Education Group runs on the 4th Wednesday of every month (exc. August and December). These are drop-off sessions, so children do not need to be accompanied – it is for children aged 8-14. Each session has a theme, and we will complete activities and engage with nature based on the month's topic. In September, we will spend some time learning about the trees that grow at Abberton. Then we will use some to get creative and get whittling. Join Wise Ram Theatre for a one-off creative workshop at The Commons, the new community space and café at The Minories in Colchester. This workshop is perfect for those interested in theatre, creative writing, and exploring climate issues. It's an opportunity to come together, explore your creativity, and learn how to tell stories about the climate crisis. No experience in theatre, creative writing, or climate issues is required. All you need is an interest in the topic and a willingness to get involved. Previous participants have described the workshop as "nourishing, supportive, playful, and welcoming." Wise Ram Theatre is a local theatre company led by Sofia Bagge and Molly Anne Sweeney. They create work on a national level that focuses on the climate crisis. Their play Decommissioned, which delves into themes of climate anxiety and hope, premiered at the Pleasance Theatre in London in April 2023. They are currently Associate Artists at the University of Greenwich and Artists in Residence at The Glitch in London. The workshop will take place on November 26, 2023, at The Minories Cafe.
