WHAT ARE WE GOING TO BE DOING? Team up with your child to create an oval trinket tray, mini dish & mini pot in your own colour choices and unique design. Ages 7+ recommended, but if you have a younger child who you think would be able to participate with you please get in touch and we can discuss :) additional tickets for child single spots are available, if parents would like to do the workshop with more than one child. In this 2-hour workshop you will be taught step by step, with demo’s how to create a Jesmonite Oval Trinket Tray using Terrazzo, Marbling & Block Colour techniques. All materials for each process are provided so you don't have to bring anything other than yourself & potentially an apron/large shirt if you want to keep your clothes clean - Jesmonite washes out in the washing machine but it can be a messy process & if you have plans after the workshop you may want to avoid the temporary marks! Best of all, because Jesmonite is quick to set, you will be able to take your creations home with you at the end of the workshop! TO SUMMARISE - Easy step by step guidance to make your own items - materials are all provided. - Add your personal touch and creativity using various colours. - Take your creations home at the end of the session, keep for yourself or give it to someone special. - Jesmonite kits will be available to purchase at the workshops for any attendees who may want to continue their experimentation or give the kit as a gift to someone! If you have any queries or concerns, please contact us at objectifyjesmonite@gmail.com, we will get back to you swiftly & do our best to respond in depth. WHAT IS JESMONITE? Jesmonite is a non-toxic, eco-friendly, water-based resin used to create many kinds of decorative homeware, art, furniture & more! It comes as a two part separated mix of powder & liquid which at 1-2.5 ratio is mixed together to form a milky mixture. Naturally Jesmonite has an off white colour to it, so coloured pigments are used to give tone & hue to the mixture which is then poured into silicone moulds, where it cures & becomes a beautifully, unique item! Refund Policy for Workshops with objectify co Cancellations up to 28 days before the event: I will refund the ticket price, minus the Eventbrite fee (approx. 11% of the ticket price), or will transfer your booking to a future event, if available. Cancellations between 27 and 14 days before the event: I will refund half the ticket price, minus the Eventbrite fee (approx. 11% of the ticket price), or will transfer your booking to a future event, if available. What is the Big Harrogate Sleep Out? Harrogate Homeless Project, Just 'B' along with Harrogate Spring Water are calling on the local business community to brave the elements and take part in The Big Harrogate Sleepout on Thursday 2nd October 2025. This impactful fundraising event returns for a second year to raise money for those facing homelessness and bereavement in North Yorkshire. This year’s event is set to be even bigger, with a renewed push to get more companies involved in making a real difference. Organised by Harrogate Spring Water and the Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP), this year’s Sleepout will also welcome Just ‘B’ as a new charity partner – a specialist bereavement and emotional wellbeing service that is part of a wider charity with Saint Michael’s Hospice. Registration is £20 per person. This includes a welcome drink, food and entry into the quiz. Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship. Whilst there is no set minimum, we suggest aiming to raise at least £100. There will also be raffle available and a paid bar on the night. About the two charities benefitting from The Big 2025 Harrogate Sleep Out Harrogate Homeless Project Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) has been a vital lifeline for vulnerable individuals in the Harrogate District since 1991, providing safe accommodation and essential support to those experiencing homelessness as they rebuild their lives towards independent living. The charity's mission is offering a pathway of support, starting with emergency accommodation, and progressing through its hostel to move-on housing. Alongside their accommodation offerings, the charity also provide a Day Centre, providing a safe and welcoming space where individuals can access essential support, including hot meals, healthcare, and pathways to accommodation. T The demand for the charity's services in Harrogate is stark and continues to rise. The charity's vision is to make sure nobody in the Harrogate District has to sleep rough and that those experiencing homelessness have all the support they need to move towards independent living. Just 'B' Just ‘B’ is a specialist bereavement support and emotional wellbeing service helping children, young people and adults across the communities of North Yorkshire, as well as offering specialist support regionally and nationally. Just ‘B’ provides emotional wellbeing and bereavement support, free at the point of need, for children, young people and adults, as well as a range of helplines and specialist services. Just ‘B’ is part of the independent charity, North Yorkshire Hospice Care, a family of services which includes Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s Hospice. Together the charity offers vital hospice care, emotional wellbeing and bereavement support. To give you some context for what your fundraising efforts will help both charities to achieve: £100 could help to fund for two hours of Just ‘B’ bereavement and wellbeing support for an adult or child, helping them to navigate their emotions during a difficult time. £100 will help Harrogate Homeless Project to provide a week's worth of daily support sessions with one of their Case Workers, helping people to take crucial steps to rebuilding their lives and securing long term housing. The Rev Dr Claire Honess will help us to examine what the New Testament tells us about the Holy Spirit and the Spirit's work using very short close readings from Paul's letters, Luke, and John. Through this she will go on to invite participants to think about what these sources tell us about the Spirit and, of course, how that might inform how we see the Spirit as active in our lives and in our churches today. https://hstm.org.uk/event/seminar-october-2025/ Information Source: Harrogate School of Theology & Mission | eventbrite

“Why do we even use this word? I have no idea what it really means.” Every denomination says making disciples is the main priority. But discipleship can be a mystifying thing. What does it really mean? How can it be a gift, rather than a stumbling block? And, even if we have an inkling of its meaning, what is really different about Christian disciples? In our lived experience? After all, in many ways people of faith, no faith or some faith seem to live quite similar lives. We are born, we work, we shop, we sleep, we love, we struggle, we laugh, we cry, we pay taxes (perhaps!) and we die (definitely!). If you’re interested in the questions ‘What difference does this make?’ Or ‘What is the way?’ this HSTM morning is for you. It is a little bit about what Christians believe, but it is more about how what Christians believe shapes our lives. Guy Donegan-Cross will introduce two books he has published this year with BRF: Discipleship: Start this Way and Discipleship: Walk this Way as a way of exploring these questions. Both books are available to order now at brfonline.org.uk/guy-donegan-cross . https://hstm.org.uk/event/2025-guy-donegon-cross/ Information Source: Harrogate School of Theology & Mission | eventbrite

It began as finding some way to deflect Jordan's family from the immense sadness we experience each December 4th since he took his own life in 2019, a way to create inspiration and a belief that from his devastating loss, we could find hope again and by doing so, inspire others to believe that also. On December 2nd, 2025, The Jordan Legacy is hosting its third Hope for Life (UK) Conference, in Harrogate and it promises to be every bit as special as the previous two conferences have been. A mix of carefully selected speakers, musicians and performance acts will inspire an audience of more than 100 people from across the UK and overseas so that they end this year filled with hope and a belief that it is possible to prevent all preventable suicides. The theme for this year's conference is; "One Voice, One Hope, coming together to save lives." Click here to watch a 2-minute video summary of our last conference in 2023. Who will be speaking at this year's conference? We have some amazing speakers lined up, including: a mother who is almost single-handedly taking on the giant social media companies, like TikTok, to remove the kind of harmful content which led to the death of her son and other children too. the co-founder of one of the UK's biggest and inspiring national tour campaigns for mental health and suicide awareness. the founder of the UK's very first Muslim wellbeing conference will talk about her experience of having to overcome cultural stigma surrounding the suicide of her husband. a busy spine surgeon for 22 years, will explain how he was moved by the suffering in the world and left medicine to help others recognise how many of the problems we face for which there is no easy answer begin in our thinking, can be overcome more easily, through a deeper understanding of our own mind. the founder of a northeast male choir, whose own performances provide an authentic Teesside feel to songs a young man who suffered crippling mental ill-health throughout his childhood, including living with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Seven years ago, he discovered running as a way to rebuild his life step by step. a former teacher, who lost her brother to suicide and is now a Churchill Fellow and at the forefront of mental health and suicide prevention efforts in education. 2 former UK Rugby League stars who will share how they're delivering evidence-based self-care tactics, vital when working in caring professions. a musical talent, who has not only written 2 inspiring songs especially in memory of Jordan but is also the founder of an organisation in Leeds specialising in building confidence in people through music and performance. If it's possible, this year's conference line-up will be the most inspiring yet! Reserve your ticket(s) now. EARLY MATINEE SHOW ADDED We've decided to add an earlier show due to this unexpectedly selling out toot sweet. A few different songs, some new ones, lots of old ones. Doors 16:00, stage time 17:00 - 18:00. Due to this being an earlier show, the venue are happy to open this one up to all ages . _____ Yorkshire-based songwriter The Howl & The Hum (Sam Griffiths) performs an exclusive intimate solo set for the first time ever in Harrogate, at Rooster's Taproom , after recently selling out Leeds' Irish Centre , following the release of second album Same Mistake Twice . _ “This is deathbed songwriting, everything you’d only express when you know you’re about to die,” Sam Griffiths says. “It’s what you wish you might have said, without worrying about the consequences.” As The Howl & The Hum , Griffiths has spent the best part of the last decade honing this capacity for raw, vulnerable storytelling combined with music that artfully traverses everything from finger-picking folk to indie, country and electronica. With the release of his second album, Same Mistake Twice , Griffiths confronts the pain and chaos of recent tumultuous years across 12 tracks of his most direct songwriting to date. Surviving the breakup of his band, the global pandemic and reckoning with his future in music, Griffiths opens with the lines “I never make the same mistake twice/ I always aim for a third time,” before spiralling into finely-spun tales of dread, anxiety and self-destruction. “It took me a few years to get back to writing,” he says. “I wanted to be able to look back and laugh at my anxieties at what I was going through, to fill that pain and difficulty with words and melodies.” Joining forces with songwriters Elanor Moss and Matthew Herd , as well as producer Joseph Futak , Griffiths drew inspiration from music by the likes of Big Thief , Phoebe Bridgers and Randy Newman . “I wanted to make music that’s quieter but that still holds loud things,” Griffiths says. “There’s an incisiveness and sharpness to the lyrics that cuts through. You don’t need bombast to make someone feel something.” Travelling from his home in Leeds to Futak’s Hackney studio most weekends from April to November in 2023, Griffiths penned his expressive, soul-searching lyrics before setting them to an expansive range of music. The opening title track sets the tone, with Griffiths singing in a forlorn baritone of whether we would change our mistakes if given the chance, before drums and strumming melodies erupt into an explosive chorus that sits somewhere between Bruce Springsteen ’s saxophone-driven euphoria and the dark introspection of The National. As the record continues, the exposing songwriting never falters. On the finger-picked country influences and sweeping strings of “Pale Blue Dot”, Griffiths is quietly devastating, admitting that “I just want to be loved/ By everyone all the time,” while the thundering guitar riffs of “No One Has To Know” revel in the pleasure that can come from allowing ourselves transgressions. “It’s asking what love means when you’re not feeling good about yourself,” Griffiths explains. The album traverses the raw harshness of Neutral Milk Hotel as much as the unblinking self-reflection of country pioneers like John Prine or Townes Van Zandt . Throughout, Griffiths’ voice is acrobatic and powerfully emotive, even while singing about the most vulnerable of topics. Effortlessly veering between gravelly introspection to soaring falsetto, it is a unifying counterpoint to his themes of anxiety and dread. Ultimately, Same Mistake Twice is a joyous and immensely brave new chapter for The Howl & The Hum, one that will also be taken on the road throughout the UK later this year. Encompassing the free musical range of the open mic nights Griffiths started out in, while turning his lived experience inwards to address the pain that comes through personal growth, it is a full-circle progression. “The lyrics are almost too direct, which is what I wanted,” he laughs. “It’s finding the beauty in the pain and looking for forgiveness through it all.” In being honest – in singing fiercely of those deathbed songs – Griffiths finds solace in the imperfections that make us all human. Sometimes, we have to make the same mistake twice. Information Source: The Howl & The Hum | eventbrite
