GanaArt Collection refers to a total of 200 works donated to SeMA by Gana Art Center Chairman Lee Ho-jae in 2001. LOTTE Museum of Art in South Korea is pleased to present Daniel Arsham’s solo exhibition “Seoul 3024”. Daniel Arsham, currently based in New York, is a multi-media visual artist who works across sculpture, painting, architecture and film. His works are based on his original concept of “fictional archaeology”. The artist makes molds of everyday objects and cultural icons, and then reshapes these sculptures with materials such as volcanic ash, calcite, plaster and amethyst. These works have been carefully and deliberately corroded to create the effect of ruins that may be excavated in the future. They are preserved in a familiar yet strange way, providing viewers with a unique experience of looking at the present and the past from the perspective of the future.
