Guangzhou Lamplight Festival | Guangzhou
Celebration
The Guangzhou International Light Festival Organizing Committee held a press conference to announce that the 2025 Guangzhou International Light Festival will be held from November 16th to 26th.
The main venue for this year's festival will be located at Huacheng Square and Haixinsha Asian Games Park on Guangzhou's new central axis, encompassing 36 light art installations. Sub-venues will extend to key areas along the banks of the Guangzhou River and Huangpu District. At the lighting ceremony, the Guangzhou Tower, East Tower (Chow Tai Fook Financial Centre), and West Tower (International Finance Centre) will stage a joint light show for the first time.
The festival coincides with the 15th National Games of China and the 32nd Guangzhou Garden Expo, which opened on October 30th. These three events will be deeply integrated to create an urban living room scene where visitors can enjoy flowers by day, lights by night, and sports activities all day long.
This year's Light Festival, themed "Smart Bay Area, Vibrant Games," features artworks distributed along the city's new central axis (Haixinsha Asian Games Park, Huacheng Square, Guangzhou Tower, East Tower, West Tower) and along both banks of the Guangzhou River (24 riverside buildings, Haiyin Bridge, Liede Bridge, Pazhou West District, Pazhou Silo, and the Flour Mill).
The festival's highlight, "Romance Under the Moonlight," uses interactive light and shadow to transform viewers from "observers" into "participants." As the "full moon" lights gently rise, the romantic and warm feelings of the citizens are instantly transformed into dynamic silhouettes, coexisting with the artwork.
