Beijing
Exhibitions
This is the first large-scale themed exhibition of the Gintama IP in North China, transforming the 10F Art Gallery at Chaoyang Joy City into a vibrant anime carnival blending passion and hilarity. Staying true to Gintama's core spirit of "delivering life lessons through absurd humor," the exhibition features nine themed photo zones and limited-time experiences, creating a nostalgic gathering place for fans to relive memories and bond over shared love for the series. Scene recreations are the exhibition's core charm: The wooden tables and chairs at Yorozuya perfectly replicate the anime's opening scenes, making you feel like Gintoki might sprawl on the sofa eating sweets any second. The infamous "sandpaper scene" at the Yagyuu family bathroom comes with built-in humor, while classic quotes on the walls instantly transport visitors into the storyline. At the Shinsengumi headquarters, mayonnaise-themed details everywhere recreate the characters' daily bonds. Other highlights include a snowscape photo spot with delicate "snowflakes," a Justaway factory assembly line where you can witness the "production process," Madao's shabby hut, and a giant statue of Sadaharu mid-bite—each location hides Easter eggs only true fans would appreciate. Interactive experiences and merchandise add to the ceremonial feel: The Elizabeth card game zone lets you enjoy the fun of "rule-free" battles, while themed photo booths create personalized souvenir frames. Exclusive Beijing-themed merchandise like plush pillows and dolls give tangible form to your passion. Here, you can snap photos of iconic scenes, bond with fellow fans over inside jokes, and—as the exhibition slogan says—"Only those who laugh till the end truly understand Gintama." Every visitor will leave with joyful memories rekindling the series' themes of perseverance and warmth.

The 3rd International Monodrama Festival | Beijing

The 3rd International Monodrama Festival | Beijing

Oct 12, 2025–Jan 31, 2026 (UTC+8)
Beijing
Celebration
When a beam of light falls precisely on a vast stage; when a person quietly walks through this light—a world is born. The simplest form, yet richest expression of emotion—this is the charm of monologue, and it is the spiritual core that the International Monologue Festival has established and upheld since its inaugural opening in March 2023. Looking back, the inaugural Gulou West Monologue Festival, through performances, a one-act short play competition, an immersive traditional Chinese drama show, and a theatrical forum, planted the seeds of the monologue and witnessed the incredible energy that a single-act performance can unleash. The following autumn, the second International Monologue Festival transcended national boundaries, inviting outstanding works from Greece, Russia, Denmark, and other countries. This allowed Chinese audiences to glimpse the diverse landscape of monologue art worldwide and allowed the world to hear the voices of Chinese monologues. Now, the third edition has arrived as promised. With even greater sincerity, we bring together 19 top-tier works from China, the United States, Spain, Georgia, Argentina, and other countries and regions. Together, they will paint a picture of the cutting-edge of contemporary monodrama. Furthermore, this year's festival will span autumn and winter, from late October to the end of the year, offering a longer-lasting, more intense theatrical marathon. In addition to familiar theater venues, this year's festival will collaborate with the First Langyuan Vintage to find the most suitable narrative venues for these unique "one-person" plays. Within the confines of "one person," we continue to explore the infinite universe and philosophy of human emotion. See you at the theater.
