Ashikaga Fireworks | Ashikaga
Celebration
The Ashikaga Fireworks Festival began in 1903 (Meiji 36), and 2026 will mark its 123rd anniversary and 110th celebration. Besides its long history and tradition, this fireworks extravaganza held in the city center is one of the premier fireworks festivals in the Kanto region, attracting numerous spectators from all over Kanto every year, making it Ashikaga's most vibrant day. Approximately 20,000 fireworks are launched, with large-scale aerial shells and sparklers simultaneously illuminating the night sky. The grand finale, the "Niagara Fireworks Display," is truly spectacular. Furthermore, as a warm-up event for the Ashikaga Fireworks Festival, the "Young Young Summer Festival" is held on July 30th (Thursday) and 31st (Friday).
