On Day 2 of the Structural Firefighting and Tactical Ventilation event in Chorley, participants will delve into Teaching Concepts and a Practical Attack Session. The day will kick off with a morning seminar focusing on teaching concepts, followed by a hands-on practical session. Please note that space for the practical Breathing Apparatus (BA) wearing session may be limited. The event, hosted by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service at the Washington Hall Training Centre, will feature esteemed guest speakers John McDonough from Fire & Rescue New South Wales, Australia, and Karel Lambert from Brussels Fire Department. John McDonough, with over three decades of experience, will share insights on modern firefighting techniques and tactics, while Karel Lambert, a seasoned firefighter and advocate for incorporating science into firefighting, will impart knowledge gathered from training programs worldwide. The event aims to cover various learning objectives, including leadership principles, fire suppression methods, and ventilation tactics. Spaces are limited, so prompt booking for Day 2 on April 30, 2024, is recommended. Participants not affiliated with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service must be proficient in SCBA use and supply their own firefighting gear. Refreshments will be provided, but attendees are advised to make their own lunch arrangements.
