Crew Leader: Josh Durham Max Size of Crew: 12 Hike Distance: mile(s): up to 4 miles RT Elevation Gain: 300' Hike Intensity: Moderate Work Intensity: Moderate Work Type: Brushing, tread restoration, logging Project Information: The Clackamas River Trail, an 8-mile through-and-through hike, was severely damaged in the 2020 Riverside Fire, and remains closed to the public. Very little work has been done on the upper section of this trail since the fire. On this trail party, we will be working to clear brush and improve tread on the damaged trail surface. We will also be removing logs from the trail as we come to them. Our ultimate goal is to provide it to provide clear, safe passage to Pup Creek Falls, which is 4 miles from the trailhead. Hiking information: The work will begin at the Fish Creek trailhead. The trail meanders up and down through a very heavily burned area. The first two miles will be restoring the work that was done a couple years ago. Past that point the trail is untouched since the fire. Expect conditions to degrade substantially. You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.
