Sweet Sadie’s Youth Group End-of-Year Celebration & Community Unity Event
Date: June 28
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: Van Horn Park, Springfield,Ma
Sweet Sadie’s Youth Group invites all families, youth, and community leaders to join us on June 28th at 1 PM for a powerful and joy-filled event as we close out the school year and work toward building a stronger, more united community.
This celebration isn’t just about fun—it’s about change. We’re calling on community leaders, educators, mentors, faith-based organizations, social workers, and anyone involved in the lives of youth and families to show up, take part, and help lead vital conversations.
At the heart of this event is a shared goal: to keep families together. We want to discuss how we can reduce youth runaway rates in our city, strengthen communication, and create safe, supportive environments where families can heal and grow.
We’re also inviting honest dialogue about how, as community leaders, we can hold ourselves accountable. When power struggles happen between systems and families, what can we do better? How can we listen more, judge less, and support in ways that uplift rather than separate?
One of the most important conversations we’ll be opening up is about parental trauma—how it affects our ability to be present, loving, and consistent for our children. Healing our own wounds is critical to building healthy relationships with our youth. This event will offer space to begin that healing journey together.
And yes—we’re making it fun!
We’ll be hosting an epic Youth vs. Adults Water Balloon Fight to bring everyone together in the spirit of joy, connection, and shared purpose. Because unity begins when walls come down and relationships are built, one moment at a time.
Throughout the event, free snacks and beverages will be provided, along with access to valuable resources, including:
Family therapy and individual counseling referrals
Youth mentorship opportunities
Support programs for parents and guardians
Upcoming community events and family-oriented organizations
We believe real change happens when we come together, not just in crisis, but in celebration. When families feel supported, when youth feel seen, and when leaders step up to lead with love and accountability, we all win.
So mark your calendar, bring your kids, invite your neighbors, and come ready to engage, connect, and make a difference. The future of our families depends on how we show up for them—let’s show up strong, united, and with love.
Thank you to all our sponsors and donation to help make this event worth it!
Let’s build. Let’s grow. Let’s keep families together.
