“Strength Inspires” is a bench press only charity meet that will benefit the Get on Track Illinois (GOT) is a 501(c)(3) Illinois-based nonprofit organization that motivates technology-addicted youth and adolescents to disconnect from electronic devices and embrace a healthier lifestyle through movement, nutrition, and personal development. All direct donations and proceeds from the event benefit individuals participating in GOT health and wellness programming. In addition to entering the contest, we are asking each lifter to set-up an individual fundraising account on GiveLively.org with a goal of raising a minimum of $100. Lifters will be emailed instructions on how to set-up an individual fundraising page once registration is completed. The Big Five Marathon is a marathon race situated on the savannahs of South Africa. The race gets its name from the famous animals of Africa referred to as The Big Five Game: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The course of The Big Five Marathon runs through the private game reserve Entabeni in the Limpopo Province, situated between Johannesburg and the Kruger National Park. Even though the course runs directly through a lion territory, safety problems will not be an issue as the route is watched by helicopters and armed rangers.The course of the marathon is atypical for its magnificent savannah scenery among the wildlife of South Africa as well as for its toughness. Even though the marathon is taking place in the wintertime, the sun can be brutal on the open savannahs. In addition to this, the course will be ascending quite a lot from beginning to end.Runners from all over the world will meet in one of the most spectacular “Big Five” game reserves in Africa.In these magnificent surroundings, one can combine exciting game drives with a challenging marathon route going right through the habitat of the most famous African game: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. No fences, no rivers, nothing at all separates the runners from the African wildlife.

Festival Walk No.6 Enjoy an early evening ramble through the dry dales near Fridaythorpe , exploring this picturesque section of the Wold Rangers Way and Yorkshire Wolds Way. End the evening with a pie and peas supper at Seaways Cafe. Eat, drink and plan your next Festival walk. This Yorkshire Wolds circular is a firm favourite of regular walkers in the area. It showcases the very best of the Wolds landscape and big skies. This guided walk is approximately 5 miles and takes place over a mixture of tracks, green lanes and footpaths. This walk (including supper) should take approximately 4 - 5 hours to complete depending on the walking pace of the group and the number of stops made. Information to get the best from this guided walk [PLEASE READ]: • Meeting place. Meet at the Seaways Cafe in Fridaythorpe. Please arrive at least 15-minutes before the published start time to allow the walk leaders to check tickets and make introductions. Please avoid parking on the road side if possible as it can cause problems for large agricultural machinery. • Finishing place. This is a circular walk so will finish at Seaways where a pie and peas supper will be served (inclusive of the ticket price). • Walk Leader. An experienced walk leader and back-marker will guide and keep your group together. They will be available to provide help and assistance during the walk. o The walk leader takes the welfare of the group seriously and may refuse a walker to join the group if they feel they have inadequate equipment at the start of the walk. o The walk leader will schedule stops during the walk. • Fitness. It is the responsibility of all walkers to ensure that they are physically fit enough to take part in the walk and that they have appropriate clothing and equipment. • Equipment . For most walks, walking boots or walking shoes are essential as the trail can be uneven and muddy at times. o Ensure you have a hat, suitable clothing and waterproofs. o A basic first aid kit - suitable for your own use. • Food and Drink. Make sure you have sufficient water for the length of the walk and remember there's a Pie and Peas supper waiting for you at the end!. • Safety. Please always remain within your walking group whilst taking part in this event and notify the walk leader (or back marker) if you need to stop. o We recommend that you download 'What3Words' onto your smartphone in case of an emergency. • Ticket. Numbers are limited so proof of your ticket is needed on arrival at the event. o Tickets are required so that we can manage numbers and ensure we have sufficient volunteer walk leaders and back markers available. • Cancellation by us. In unsafe conditions, a safety assessment will be made and a decision may be taken by the organisers to cancel the event if necessary. You will be notified in advance by email if at all possible. • Cancellation by you. If you cannot attend the walk for any reason please let us know by cancelling your ticket via Eventbrite as soon as you are aware. If there is a waiting list for the walk this will ensure your ticket is reallocated. Please see the refund policy for this walk. • Four legged friends. Dogs are permitted however the trail passes through farmland and therefore they must be well controlled and kept on a lead. A weekend of singing, connecting, eating and playing together, celebrating the power of collective joy. Led by artist & choir leader Seamas Carey, with therapeutic lead - Phil Collier. Any Gender: 4 th – 6 th July Any Gender: 18 th – 20 th July Based in the beautiful, secluded grounds of Holifield Hostel in Cornwall, immerse yourself in three days of warm ups, circle singing and song learning. You’ll be encouraged to make new friends, share your feelings, move your body, eat together, create a group rite of passage and gather round the fire in the evenings. The booking price of £200 includes all freshly prepared meals, a hostel bunk bed for two nights, fire wood and singing/talking leadership. The weekend is open to anyone regardless of previous singing experience, but will involve some physical movement activities outside – please contact us with access requirements or any other questions – seamascarey@gmail.com Who? Seamas Carey , the internationally award-winning performer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and choir leader spent six years running Cornwall’s first alternative male voice choir (Men Are Singing). He’s sung all over the world with his solo work, various theatre companies and The Spooky Men’s Chorale. His collective singing workshops are delivered in an informal, infectious and accessible style that gets the most out of people. Whether you've sung before or it's your first time, there's something for everyone as Seamas uses ear-worm rounds, fun warm ups and surprising song covers - to encourage people to connect with their bodies, the other people around them and take themselves less seriously. Phil Collier is a Masters Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PG cert). He has evidence-based working knowledge of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) approaches to trauma, anxiety, depression and psychosis.
