Experience the ultimate indie-filmmaking journey at MSU Filmmakers Camp in East Lansing. From July 22nd to July 26th, aspiring filmmakers aged 14-18 (grades 9-12) can immerse themselves in the art of cinematic creation at Wells Hall, 619 Red Cedar Road. Throughout the week, students will delve into the intricacies of storytelling, cinematography, and editing, progressing from crafting short films on mobile devices to collaborating on longer, more refined projects.
Under the guidance of industry professionals, campers will analyze the essential components of a successful film, including scriptwriting, acting, directing, camera work, sound design, and post-production. The program culminates in a group screening at 4:30 PM on Friday in B122 Wells Hall, where families are welcome to attend and witness the cinematic fruits of the campers' labor.
With a program fee of $495, participants will have access to all necessary equipment, snacks, and a cafeteria visit. Financial aid and scholarships are available upon inquiry with the camp director.
