A monthly community storytelling night. Share a true story or simply listen. No pressure, no performance—just real people and real stories. Tales of the Town A Monthly Open Mic Storytelling Night Share a story or witness one. Tales of the Town is a space where every voice has a place. Real stories. Real people. What Is Tales of the Town? Tales of the Town is a monthly, in-person open mic storytelling night held on the first Thursday of every month . It’s a space created for honest human stories — the kind that don’t need to be polished, impressive, or wrapped up neatly. This is not a performance. This is not about being confident. This is about presence, voice, and community. You can come to: share a true story listen and witness others or simply sit in the room and take it in Listening counts. Being there counts. What Makes This Night Different Tales of the Town isn’t a typical open mic. There’s: no pressure to perform no feedback or fixing no expectation to be funny, profound, or polished Stories can be: short or unfinished quiet or expressive funny, tender, or still forming This is a space where honesty matters more than delivery. How the Night Works Each gathering includes: a grounding opening ritual clear community agreements open mic storytelling (optional) space to listen and witness Each month may feature a theme , but you’re always welcome whether your story fits it perfectly or not. You never have to decide in advance if you’re going to speak. This month's theme: HOME Home can be a place you return to, or one you’re still trying to find. It can live in a person, a city, a meal you make the same way every time. Sometimes it’s the sound of your own keys in the door. Other times, it’s the moment you realize you’ve outgrown the walls that once held you. Home can be comfort or conflict. Belonging or leaving. Holding on or starting fresh. Maybe it’s where you came from. Maybe it’s what you’re building now. Who This Is For Tales of the Town is for: thoughtful, creative humans people craving real connection those curious about using their voice anyone who wants to feel less alone You do not need storytelling experience. You do not need to prepare. You do not need to share. When & Where 📅 May 7, 2026 at 7 pm 📍 Circuit — 1055 Drouillard, Windsor, Ontario Doors open early so you can arrive slowly and get settled. Why People Keep Coming Back People often leave Tales of the Town saying: “I felt less alone.” “I didn’t know I needed that.” “It felt safe to be myself.” It’s not about the stories themselves. It’s about how it feels to be in the room together. You’re Welcome Here Whether you share a story or witness one, whether you come once or keep coming back, your presence matters. Share a story or witness one. Tales of the Town is a space where every voice has a place. Information Source: Tina Huynh | eventbrite

A curated intentional dating event series for singles who date like they mean it. Dating in your 40s and 50s is A LOT. You've got a life. One you’ve worked hard to build. Kids, maybe. An established career. Earned clarity about who you are and exactly what you're not willing to put up with anymore. And then you open an app and it’s the same ten faces you’ve already seen. Same openers that go nowhere. Same conversations that start with promise and end with deafening silence. I mean, you put in valuable time and energy and get NOTHING BACK.. We've been trained to swipe left and right until our brain melts without any real conversation. Nothing to risk, with nothing to gain. And what's wild is most people don't even realize they've adapted to it — like something's missing but they can't quite name it. I know that feeling. I've sat in it too. We've been trained to swipe left and right until our brain melts without any real conversation. Nothing to risk, with nothing to gain. And what's wild is most people don't even realize they've adapted to it. 🤷🏽 Let’s say you meet someone who seems genuinely “great”. You have good conversations, palpable chemistry, a decent amount of potential — and then out of nowhere... they vanish. No explanation. No closure. Just blocked and ghosted. 🤷🏽 Or you find yourself somewhere in the middle of being in a relationship and a penpal, and six months later you're still having the same conversation about where this is even going. 🤷🏽 Or you're scrolling through profiles at 100 miles a minute at 10pm after the kids are finally in bed, completely drained & disappointed, not even really paying attention, wondering how this became your Saturday night. You're not doing anything wrong. Dating at this stage is just plain HARD. I got tired of watching people — myself included — try to squeeze themselves into a dating culture that was never built for where we actually are. Date on Purpose exists to disrupt that. This isn't just a singles event. It's a different way of relating. This is a structured, intentional night built around something modern dating has quietly killed off: actual human conversation . Connection where you’re genuinely curious, asking meaningful questions, getting honest answers, and walk away knowing something real about another person. Like when does that happen anymore? This night isn't about matching with as many people as possible. It's not about instant sparks or maximizing volume. It's about restoring something that got lost somewhere along the way: Presence. Real conversation. Mutual effort. Eye contact that lasts longer than five seconds. Listening without planning your next move. Here you have the space to actually notice chemistry. And maybe realize someone outside of your comfort zone might surprise you. Connection deserves more than a swipe. And so do you. What makes this different: Instead of being thrown into a room to "mix and mingle" or having the pressure of explaining your entire personality in two minutes — you get to walk in, exhale a small sigh of relief, and relax knowing you can show up as imperfectly human. The curated conversation prompts are there to help you communicate like a human — and ask questions you actually want to know the answers to. Maybe even ones you've never thought to ask yourself. This is NOT: ❌ Speed dating where a timer decides your fate in 2 minutes or less ❌ A loud bar where you yell "SO WHAT DO YOU DO" over music all night ❌ A mix-and-mingle where everyone pretends they're not nervous (we all are, even me) ❌ A room full of people half-heartedly "seeing what's out there" but wanting nothing. ❌ Another situationship where someone seems great and then disappears in to the dating abyss. In this room, there’s no performance. No ego, no games. no one pretending you've got it all figured out. Just real people, in a real room, actually trying to find something worth it. Here's the magic: ✨ Every registration is personally vetted — by yours truly. Not an algorithm. Me. Because this only works if everyone in the room wants to be there. ✨ Seated in groups of 4–6 at themed tables . Intimate enough to hear each other. Relaxed enough that it feels like a good dinner with people you actually like — not an interview panel. ✨ Curated & themed conversation prompts that matter. Not "what do you do for fun." Questions that tell you who someone really is, what they value, what they've learned. The kind you've probably been wanting someone to ask you for years. ✨ Timed rotations + free time to find those connections. Move through the room, meet multiple people. When a conversation is worth continuing — and some will be — you'll have the space to do exactly that. ✨ Balanced gender ratio. Capped numbers. Quality over quantity. Every single time. ✨ One welcome drink included . Alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Some liquid courage if needed. ✨ A DOP Survival Bag. Because you deserve something nice for being courageous enough to show up. The best part? Everyone in that room is busy. Has responsibilities. A life. Yet, they chose to show up anyway. I never take that lightly. And neither should you. This is for you if: ✔ You're done with apps that make you feel like you’re on Hot or Not. ✔ You have zero patience left for situationships, mixed signals, or people who can't say what they want ✔ You know who you are…you just need a room full of people who are at the same place ✔ You're willing to show up even though you've been burned, because the alternative is staying home forever on your couch with Netflix asking you “if you’re still watching” ✔ You want real conversation with real people who are READY. Not almost ready, not "it's complicated" Thank you, next. ✔ You still believe something real is out there. Even in all this craziness. Especially now. You might not meet your person tonight. But you will find people who align with you — and leave feeling more hopeful than when you walked in. Not perfectly. Not fearlessly ...but on purpose.
