Join us on May 3rd for a day of darkroom tours! Meet Clyde Butcher and enjoy a 30-minute, behind-the-scenes tour of his 2,200-square-foot darkroom, led by his assistants. Don’t miss the chance to see where Clyde’s iconic landscapes come to life using traditional techniques rarely practiced today. Guests step inside the darkroom to explore Clyde’s collection of enlargers, each designed for specific formats. See the negatives up close and learn how custom-built enlargers make mural-sized prints possible. Learn the techniques Clyde uses with green and blue lights, dodging, burning, and more during the tour. Guests learn how prints move through developer, stop bath, fixer, and water trays to complete the image. Each print is a unique work of art, crafted one at a time in the dark, by hand. Clyde will be in the gallery for the day to visit with guests, sign books and calendars, and share stories from his photographic adventures.
