Warter Wold gives you views of no fewer than seven of the classic and stunning Wold Dales, with their flowing lines and signiture big skies.
This guided circular walk leaves Walk at 11.00am and finishes with afternoon tea and a tour of the Wolds Heritage Centre, once the village Church.
Warter is a small, picturesque, ancient Wolds estate village with a classic village green and Celtic cross and even a row of thatched cottages. Along the walks you will see the location of David Hockney’s famous giant painting, 'Bigger Trees Near Warter', inspired by the trees around this village.
Your ticket includes a guided walk with one of our expert Wold Rangers walk leaders, afternoon tea and a tour of the Wolds Heritage Centre.
This guided walk will be approximately

iles
(14km) and is circular taking place over a mixture of made-up footpaths, green lanes and tracks . There are some road sections but are generally very quiet with wide verges.
This walk part of the event should take approximately
3 hours
to complete depending on the walking pace of the group and the number of stops made.
Information to get the best from this guided walk [PLEASE READ]:

Meeting place.
Meet in the Free car park in Warter Village (SE 869502). Please arrive at least15-minutes before the published start time to allow the walk leaders to check tickets and make introductions.

Finishing place.
This is a circular walk so will finish in Warter.
•
Walk Leader.
An experienced walk leader and back-marker will guide and keep your group together. They will be available to provide help and assistance during the walk.
o The walk leader takes the welfare of the group seriously and may refuse a walker to join the group if they feel they have inadequate equipment at the start of the walk.
o The walk leader will schedule stops during the walk.

Fitness.
It is the responsibility of all walkers to ensure that they are physically fit enough to take part in the walk and that they have appropriate clothing and equipment.

Equipment
. For most walks, walking boots or walking shoes are essential as the trail can be uneven and muddy at times.
o Ensure you have a hat, warm clothing and waterproofs.
o A basic first aid kit - suitable for your own use.
o Sunscreen is also advised.

Food & Drink.
Make sure you have sufficient water for the length of the walk and bring snacks too if you wish.

Safety.
Please always remain within your walking group whilst taking part in this event and notify the walk leader (or back marker) if you need to stop.

Ticket.
Numbers are limited so proof of your ticket is needed on arrival at the event.
o Tickets are required so that we can manage numbers and ensure we have sufficient volunteer walk leaders and back markers available.

Cancellation by us.
In unsafe conditions, a safety assessment will be made and a decision may be taken by the organisers to cancel the event if necessary. You will be notified in advance by email if at all possible.

Cancellation by you.
If you cannot attend the walk for any reason please let us know by cancelling your ticket via Eventbrite as soon as you are aware. If there is a waiting list for the walk this will ensure your ticket is reallocated.

Four legged friends.
Dogs are permitted however the trail passes through farmland and therefore they must be well controlled and kept on a lead. This walk is not guaranteed to be dog-friendly and you may need to help your dog over stiles.

• Free car parking is available in the village of Warter(SE 869502)
The walk starts from a large free car park next to the school in the village of Warter. The car park is signposted once you get to the village
Photography
• The organisers may take photographs and video during the walk to be used for future publicity including brochures and social media. If you have any objection please advise the event organisers at the START of the walk.
Children and Young People
• Children and young people under-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
