A beloved tradition that unites our community in the festive spirit. At Rotary Plaza, a spectacular 120-foot-tall Christmas tree was lit up, adorned with 18,175 twinkling lights. The parade featured over 1,400 enthusiastic participants, with thousands of spectators lining the streets. The parade route began on Orange Avenue and circled the intersection of RH Dana and Adella Streets.

The San Diego Half Marathon has been designed to carry runners over a spectacular 13.1-mile USATF-certified course, while showcasingone of the world’s most beautiful cities! Our signature scenic routebegins at Petco Park and winds through downtown to Harbor Drive with views of San Diego Bay, San Diego’s skyline, Spanish Landing and Cancer Survivor Park. Then it makes its way through historic Liberty Station whilepassing NTC Park and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Next it’s up Washington Street through Mission Hills and Hillcrest. The last few miles coastdownhill, passing the scenic palm trees that lineBalboa Park and lead right back into downtown, with an unforgettable 5th Avenue finish – featuring a live jumbotron and Gaslamp Block Party!

Give yourself the best holiday gift ever this year by completing the San Diego Holiday Half Marathon just days before Christmas — come to beautiful San Diego for the beautiful weather and stay for a PR-worthy course. With the exception of a fairly big hill in the first mile, just about all of the rest of the race is downhill running at this race, which unfolds between Rancho Penasquitos and Torrey Pines State Beach. The San Diego Holiday Half Marathon is the same fast 13.1 mile course that now starts on Penasquitos Drive at the NEW START LINE in front of the Doubletree Golf Resort then travels SW along Carmel Mountain Rd (your only ‘real’ hill at mile 1.5), along the 56 bike path and finishes at the beautiful Torrey Pines State Beach. The race includes a 711-foot net elevation drop along the rolling downhill bike path, which also makes it a personal best candidate. This popular winter half has been a sell out event every year and sure to sell out this year.

The Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon® is a runners’ favorite for its scenery and value. A fast and certified course through San Francisco’s scenic Golden Gate Park, the race has been selected as Road Race of the Year by the Road Runners Club of America several times.The Half Marathon course will take runners out around the panhandle, back through Golden Gate Park, and out and back on the Great Highway and finishes at the entrance to the Kaiser Permanente health expo, and the 5K is a fast, downhill 3.1 mile course certified by USA Track & Field. This year, in addition to the Half Marathon and 5K, there is a new 10K option. The 10K is also a fast, net downhill course, 6.2 miles and USA Track & Field certified.After the race, follow the runners and walkers into the post-race area for food, drinks, free massages, and other offerings.The Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon® 10K & 5K presented by Pamakid Runnersraises funds to support San Francisco Bay Area community organizations.
