Its purpose is to bring together technical leaders, training providers, industry bodies, and frontline professionals to openly discuss how we maintain high technical standards, keep our people safe, and retain the skills needed to deliver future infrastructure. Through targeted talks and panel discussions, the conference aims to spark action around improving training, supporting workforce wellbeing, and strengthening industry collaboration. The Rail Technical Conference is aimed at those directly impacted by the current lack of consistent work and workforce uncertainty in the rail sector. Our delegates include: • Track and Signalling Installers and Technicians facing fluctuating workloads • Design Engineers at all levels—from Apprentices and Graduates to Principal Engineers • Site Safety Staff and Compliance Officers managing increasingly complex safety demands • Construction and Civils Operatives affected by project delays and underutilisation • Possession Planners and frontline Supervisors dealing with compressed programmes • Early-career Rail professionals and Apprentices seeking sustainable career paths • Contractors, agency workers, and supply chain staff experiencing irregular employment • Project Professionals such as, Project Managers, Commerical, Procurement, Line Managers, non-technical professionals • Suppliers and manufacturers This event is focused on those whose livelihoods and professional development are being challenged by the current market pressures — providing them with insights, support, and a platform to be heard. Delegates should come away with: • A clearer understanding of the current pressures facing the rail workforce • Practical insights into improving competence, wellbeing, and compliance • Inspiration to take action within their own organisations • A renewed sense of shared responsibility for industry-wide standards It’s also about connection and collaboration — creating space for open discussion between those in training, operations, engineering, and leadership roles. A Certificate of Attendance will be provided (7.5 hours) for your CPD Record Email rtc@asavrail.com to request your certificates, quoting your ticket reference, name and contact email address. The RTC is ideal for organisations who: • Deliver technical training or workforce development services • Support mental health, wellbeing, or professional development in rail • Provide technology or systems that support competency, licensing, or compliance • Want to engage with the rail engineering community on standards and innovation • Are interested in shaping the future of the UK’s railway workforce There will be 8 different key themes for the day: 1. Current Workload and Industry Response 2. Competency and Training 3. Supporting Railway Workforce Facing Early Retirement 4. Stress and Mental Health in Difficult Times 5. Professional Registration and Development 6. Benefits of IET Membership 7. Succession Planning: Passing the Baton in the Real World 8. How Speed Dating Works in Birmingham When you arrive at Treetop Mini Golf you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date. You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't. At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day. Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink at the Amazon themed bar! After the Speed Dating has taken place, feel free to head to the golf course and play a round or two of mini golf with some of your love interests and friends made from the evening! This is a great way to mingle with fellow daters and continue your evening! Don't forget to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches. Post Event No later than midday the following day our matching system will be unlocked for you to enter your ticks from the previous evening. You have all day to tick as many people as you like from the night before. We guarantee you will find someone you will want to see again, otherwise we will give you your next Speed Dating event for free! "Lisa is super engaging & very entertaining whilst offering original, valuable & authentic content. She is very relatable & says it how it is, no fluff, no sales gimmicks, hands down the best business workshops I’ve been to and she attracts such great peopl e , the networking is brilliant too… as is the lunch & the price! Can’t recommend Lisa & these events enough." Janie W. DARETOGROW / Live - Talk, Networking and Workshop for Entrepreneurs Ready to Grow! DARETOGROW / Live is a bi-monthly, high energy, inspirational community and networking event designed to bring purpose-driven entrepreneurs together in person, make new introductions and dramatically change the activity you do to grow your business. With a brand new workshop (motivational AND practical) to set the tone at each event, a huge focus on mindset and business strategy (hello my favourite topics!), a beautifully catered lunch and structured networking, it’s time to get out there in person, change your mindset and truly grow your business. This isn't stuffy networking. It isn't naff coffee and flat conversations. This event is about growth: personal and business growth. And you can feel that energy the second you walk in the door. As an online business coach, I've scaled three companies in three different sectors, billing seven figures in personal sales. I am now on a mission to show good-hearted people how to properly position, market and sell their incredible offers to do the same. The things is, we need a few things to pull that off: the right growth mindset, the right scaling strategy, a sense of belief and support, and a willingness to get out there and market and sell our services. This is what I'm all about. In fact, I LOVE this stuff and have dedicated my life to showing good-hearted people how to do this properly, challenging you to step into you full purpose, finding and removing the subconscious blocks that hold you back, and supporting and celebrating your attempts, wins and fails along the way. As I always say to my clients: To succeed more, you're going to fail more. So let's go fail our way to the top! - "If you haven't been before, you simply must go or if you have been, get the next event in your diary now. A room full of like minded and inspiring people, led by Lisa with her humour, energy and wisdom . It is a combination that works and you leave inspired along with practical steps to take to move you and your business forward. It is a win, win!" Anisa L "Lisa's events are brilliant - r ich in genuinely useful teaching / reframes / ideas to take and run with in your business . And they're a lot of fun - there's so much warmth & humour in the day." Moira F.. "What an amazing day, this is no ordinary networking event and I am so grateful that I decided to attend. This will become a regular staple to my business going forwards. Lisa brought an energy to the day that filled the whole room and had everyone chatting away like old friends. It really was quite something - thank you Lisa!" Maisie C. So what is this, in a nutshell? DARETOGROW / Live is a bi-monthly, high energy, inspirational community and networking event for good hearted people wanting to scale their businesses. We're running in Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham and you're welcome to attend all three cities to open up your network and meet new people. The event is frames around a brand new business growth workshop from Lisa Bean, designed to show you the truth of what it takes to market and grow your business in 2025. It's honest, practical and inspiring. We break up the day with a delicious lunch (all dietary requirements catered for), structured breakouts and even some quiet breakouts to write in your workbooks. Oh yes - did I mention you get a printed workbook to capture your ideas and plans? Come back month after month to stay on track, stay in this high-vibe energy, meet new people and smash the heck out of your business. About your Host & Speaker, Lisa Bean Lisa Bean is a UK based motivational speaker, best-selling author and online business coach, teaching heart-led entrepreneurs and business owners how to manage their mindset for success, how to increase sales and how to develop their unique thought leadership to build successful businesses online. As the founder of three six figure businesses, with over seven figures in personal sales, Lisa is an expert in online sales and has a proven record of creating offers, making sales and changing lives. Lisa has completed over 1000 hours of coaching with start up entrepreneurs, six and seven figure business owners and eight figure corporations, and has delivered training for NatWest and The Guardian. Having overcome clinical depression by giving in to her purpose and speaking her truth, Lisa is a trauma informed coach and is studying towards her masters in psychology to deepen her understanding of how change works in the mind. Lisa will be pursuing her doctorate in psychology following her masters. Lisa’s first self-help memoir, First Sh!t Version, was self-published through an editorial company in 2020 and sold over 4,400 copies through word of mouth and Amazon searches. The book reached number two in the Kindle charts, number six in the paperback charts and number one in ‘hot new releases’. Lisa was shortlisted for Penguin’s WriteNow competition in 2020 (against 3,700 applicants). Lisa is a keen cook, gym go-er and DIY-er and currently lives in the Northeast with her partner (Lucy), her step-daughter, a whippet and a tortoise. They’re midway through a renovation project and wondering what on Earth they were thinking. Learn more about Lisa here: https://lisa-bean.com/ Why Attend? We have built an incredible community of good-hearted, hard working entrepreneurs with a hunger and ambitious to be of service in the world. It’s time we brought that community back together. Join us live to: ☑️ Stay hyper focused on the 'straight line through' to your dreams, projects and outcomes! ☑️ Have somewhere inspiring and in person to go once a month to get out of the house, re-energise and turn up as the person you intend to become. ☑️ Meet new people and business connections! This might be friends you then meet up with / co work with but it could also be people you do business with! ☑️ Learn something new! Each month I will be leading an inspirational new talk from my businesses. It could be something very specific linked to business, marketing and growth or it could be more linked to mindset, transformation and person change. Agenda: This is the rough agenda for the day: 10:00 – 10:30 Arrival, refreshments, hellos Arrive at the venue, grab yourself a tea or coffee and say hello to the people in the room. 10:30 – 12:00 Transformational session with Lisa Bean 60-90 minute transformational session with Lisa Bean. The topic will be linked to business growth through sales, marketing and mindset content and activities. New transformational talk, with printed workbook every month! 12:00 – 13:00 Lunch provided Networking, mingle, chat and enjoy lunch on site 1:00 – 2:00 Facilitated networking session 1 Everyone is broken down into smaller groups of 8-10 for more focused networking sessions to meet new people and learn about the people in the room. 2:00 – 3:00 Transformational session with Lisa Bean The workshop with Lisa continues. Using the workbooks, everyone will be guided to reflect on their monthly progress towards their true goals, remind themselves of what’s important and set new priority actions for the month ahead. But...remember: You'll be in a bold new energy following the event so you will be inspired to shoot for more! 3:00 – 4:00 Group work session + Q&A Similar to the guided networking session, everyone is broken down into smaller groups of 4-6 to make commitments on their actions, whilst getting the chance to meet more new people. To the world Mrs Copplefield is the epitome of Victorian propriety: an exemplary society lady who writes a weekly column advising young ladies on how to be better wives. Only Adeline has never been a good wife or mother; she has no claim to the Copplefield name, nor is she an English lady . . . Now a black woman, born in Africa, who dared to pretend to be something she was not, is on trial in the English courts with all of London society baying for her blood. And she is ready to tell her story . . . "When I set out to write this book, I knew I wanted to write about a Black women living in Victorian England. I was deliberate about relying less on the 'slave ' or 'maid' narrative and instead place the focus on a resilient, resourceful and wealthy Victorian woman who just happens to be Black. It was also important for me to highlight the contributions of women of African descent who have mostly been erased from history. Although ‘Temi’ is a fictional character, there are ‘guest stars’ in this novel like, Sarah Parker Remond the only known Black woman to sign the register for women's rights in 1866 and Alice Kinloch. Both these Black women have all made a difference at a time when women’s voices were muted." --- Author, Lola Jaye Free entry Cocktail bar, nibbles, and discussion! Tell a friend! How Speed Dating Works in Birmingham When you arrive at the Birmingham venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others.
