This exciting event will take place at Ruby Hill Park, located on West Jewell Avenue. The day will be filled with youth mountain bike skills courses, bike-themed games, and beginner trail rides. Riders of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate. Don't worry if you don't have a bike, as we will provide them for you. Our skilled instructors and volunteers will also be on hand to assist with bike and helmet fittings, skills instruction, and leading the rides. Throughout the day, there will be a variety of activities, including one-hour beginner trail rides at 10:30 AM and 12:30 AM. The skills course and bike games will be available from 10 AM to 2 PM. Dr. Marty Otañez, Chair and Associate Professor in the Anthropology Department at the University of Colorado Denver, will be presenting findings from a recent study on the experiences of BIPOC individuals with psilocybe mushrooms. This study, conducted at CU Denver, sheds light on the lived experiences and concerns of people of color and low-income individuals regarding the legalization of psilocybe mushrooms in Colorado. During the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the study findings through short video interviews with research participants. These interviews touch on various themes, including psychedelic harm reduction, microdosing for stress relief, cultivation of medicinal mushrooms, medicalization, and corporatization.
