The Flamenco Biennial has been held every two years since 1980, and from 2015 onwards, the September Flamenco Festival will be held in every odd-numbered year. The event includes flamenco competitions and various singing and dancing performances, showcasing this unique Spanish art. The selection and programming of the event are handled by two committees, one is the Artistic Committee, which is composed of five recognized masters in the flamenco world; the other is the Advisory Committee, which is composed of ten experts and is responsible for providing advice on other performances and activities held in conjunction with the Biennial, including related courses, lectures, interviews and seminars. The Biennial will last for nearly a month. The September Flamenco Festival lasts for two weeks.
