Do you have a stash of paper odds and ends (e.g., handmade paper experiments, printmaking scraps, drawing fragments, etc.) that you can’t bear to part with?!? Join instructor, Elisa Lanzi in making a one of a kind hinged accordion book using upcycled materials. Your multi-panel book can serve as a visual journal of your art (for example, a handsome catalog) or a unique artist collaged book. The workshop will introduce participants to two simple book formats – a hinged multi-panel book & a folded pamphlet. Methods include hinging, collaging, cutting, pasting, folding, and layout.Participants are encouraged (but not required) to bring their favorite paper odds and ends to use in their books. Don’t worry, the instructor also will be bringing some of her own handmade paper scraps and booty from her extensive ephemera files. Plus, participants will get to incorporate a variety of unique and beautiful papers from the Paper Connection collection.
