Registration MUST be completed through Brave Endeavors. This page is intended only to promote the event. This course costs $199.**Join SheJumps and Brave Endeavors for a mountain biking foundations course. This course is designed for beginner - intermediate women and female-identifying riders who are either new to mountain biking or who've never received formal MTB coaching. We will cover basic mountain biking skills such as bike and body separation, suspension, tire pressure, and other introductory skills! Riders will get the most of our this clinic if you are currently: SKILL LEVEL 1 - TOTES A NEWBIE You've never ridden a mountain bike on an actual dirt trail before. You can execute: Staying upright while pedaling. SKILL LEVEL 2 - NOVICE You have ridden mountain bikes on dirt trails a few times, but mostly everything about riding these contraptions is still a mystery...but you're game to learn! You can execute: Skill Level 1 and… One finger braking on both the front (left) and rear (right) brakes Riding with flat (50/50) pedals while not pedaling (pedals are flat or parallel to the ground) Pushing the shifter thingy...but being in the right gear might need some work still. SKILL LEVEL 3 - STRONG NOVICE You're stoked on singletrack, but working on those skills all the cool kids are doing. You enjoy mellow smooth trails, but sometimes climbs come out of friggin' nowhere & you forget to shift, or those rocks or roots get a little cray cray and you prefer to walk-it-out. You’re still not comfy riding roots, rocks, switchbacks, & steep stuff...and drops or jumps? Oh hell no girl. You can execute: Skill Level 2 and… Controlled braking at speed Riding while STANDING and being able to coast with flat pedals Can get over small rocks, roots, and obstacles...but you're not sure how you're doing it. Timeline: 8:45-9:00 - Check-in and time to mingle 9:00-9:15 - Introductions 9:15-11:00 - Ride and clinic time 11-11:15 - Event wrap-up and raffle We will have non-alcoholic beverages and snacks available for participants. Join legendary picturebook author/illustrator Jan Brett as she launches her book signing tour for her new picturebook, Alice in a Winter Wonderland ! This event is hosted by Waucoma Bookstore. Jan will do a presentation and the sign books afterwards. General Admission is $5.00 Entrance to the signing line requires thethe purchase of Alice in Winter Wonderland from Waucoma Bookstore. There are only 275 signing line tickets available (please only purchase 1 per family/group). Signing line tickets include 1 copy of Alice in Winter Wonderland, admission for 1 person, and a spot in a signing line. Additional family/group members will need a general admission ticket ($5.00) to enter the event For example, a family/group of 3 will require the following tickets to attend the event: 1 signing line ticket (admission for 1 person + a copy of Alice in Winter Wonderland) 2 general admission tickets - admission for 2 family members For a total of 3 tickets. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult in the signing line. Jan will sign at least one book per group in line and more if possible. For any extra books that are not able to be signed by Jan we have signed bookplates that are die-cut and beautifully designed with full-color Jan Brett artwork. Waucoma Bookstore will be distributing 275 signing line wrist bands to adults. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. If you can no longer attend the event, you can gift the tickets to friends and family. FAQ: Can I bring books from home for Jan Brett to sign? Usually the expected attendance at events does not allow for books from home to be signed. However, we are happy to provide as many signed bookplates that you need. Can I have multiple copies of Alice in a Winter Wonderland signed for me at my turn in the signing line? Crowd size dictates how many books can be signed per wristband. Often this only allows one book, however, we encourage you to make strategic signing line plans with your friends. Of course, we have signed bookplates for the rest of your purchases. 275 is a lot of people! How can I get a good spot in the signing line, it's boring to stand in line that long. When you pick up your pre-purchased book at the event, you will be given a wristband with a number for the signing line. Numbers will be given out based on the order in which books are picked up, not the order in which they were ordered. I can't wait for two hours. We have beautifully designed signed Jan Brett bookplates to anyone not able to join the line or stay in line Can I order a book to be signed even if I don't attend the event? Crowd size will determine whether there is time for Jan to sign pre-ordered books if customers are not able to attend the event. If we run out of time, we promise to give you as many beautiful signed bookplates as you need for your order. Information Source: Waucoma Bookstore | eventbrite
