Join our FREE robotics workshop for ages 5+! Build, program, decorate and take home your own waving robot. Build a Robot – Free Workshop with Moiz Din & Kishan Poonyth FREE AND ALL WELCOME This workshop is part of Tech Ilford Festival 2026 Suitable for ages 5+ Kids can join our session and learn how to build a small little robot that waves his hand. All parts will be 3D-printed beforehand and equipped with an ESP-32 microcontroller and a 9g micro servo. The children will be able to assemble and program the bot themselves, with laptops provided during the session. After building, kids can decorate their robot using marker pens, googly eyes, and other small craft materials to make their robot unique. They’ll be able to take their robot home and show it to their friends and family! Session Information: There will be 10 people per session, with each session lasting 45 minutes. Session 1: 11:00am – 11:45 am Session 2: 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm Session 3: 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm Session 4: 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm You are also welcome to join us on the day even if you have not booked, as there may be last-minute availability in the gallery. About the Workshop Leaders: Kishan (“Kish”) Poonyth Brunel University London I’m a third-year computer science student at Brunel University London, passionate about robotics and hands-on learning. I love introducing young people to technology and enjoy helping kids discover how fun and accessible building and programming robots can be. Moiz (“Mo”) Din My name is Moiz, most people just call me “Mo” :D. I’m a third-year computer science student at the University of East London. I already have experience teaching kids robotics with Redbridge Library.
