Join the "Collective Artist Series" Watercolor workshop, featuring internationally recognized artists Eric Michaels and William Mancuso. This unique opportunity allows participants to explore and enhance their sketching skills by studying two distinctive and complementary styles. The workshop will take place at the Franciscan Life Process Center in Lowell, MI, from July 10th to July 12th, 2024. Limited to only 15 participants per team, you can choose to join either Team Eric or Team Bill. Team Eric's sessions will focus on pen, pencil, and watercolor sketching techniques. Eric will guide participants through exercises that improve perception and enhance creativity. These exercises include rhythm and relationship drawing, working with masses, and recognizing positive and negative shapes. Team Bill's sessions will concentrate on pen and wash sketching. Bill will teach participants how to sketch anything, anywhere, and anytime by focusing on sketching small. Techniques for achieving this will be discussed, along with composition, perspective, subject matter, and materials suitable for working on a smaller scale. On the final day, participants will have the opportunity to work with their initial instructor again in the morning. After lunch, both Eric and Bill will work side-by-side on the same subject matter while both classes observe. Weather permitting, this final demonstration may take place outdoors. To ensure you have all the necessary materials, please bring a check or cash for $50 made out to William Mancuso for a kit that he will provide. This kit will contain everything you need, and some of the colors will be used in Eric's part of the workshop. No supplies are required for Bill's part of the workshop.
