The event aims to promote Hanbok culture and features a variety of supporting programs such as exhibitions, experience activities and fashion shows. It is held in the third week of October every year.
The event is in its seventh year this year and is themed "Beauty of Hanbok, Friends of Hallyu". The Seoul Museum of Crafts will hold a special exhibition of Hanbok called "Touch, See", which will display Hanbok materials, videos recording the process of making Hanbok, and Korean paper crafts. The Cheong Wa Dae Chunchugwan will display traditional Hanbok used in various ceremonies such as birthday parties, coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, birthday banquets, and memorial ceremonies under the theme of "Traditional Hanbok - A Lifetime of Rituals".
The Hwangyeonjeon of Changgyeonggung Palace will hold a traditional Hanbok experience event, and the National Folk Museum will introduce the history of coming-of-age ceremonies and traditional Hanbok to young people in the front of the National Folk Museum. At the Hanbok Culture Week commemoration event held at the Seoul Museum of Crafts on the 18th, six people who have contributed to the promotion of Hanbok culture will receive commendations and certificates from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Lee Ji-yeon, the representative of the brand "H, Apply" that designed stage costumes for the popular girl group NewJeans, will be awarded the "New Hanbok Person Award". 
In addition, this event will be connected with the "Korea-Vietnam Friendship Korean Culture Day" held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and a fashion show of traditional Korean and Vietnamese costumes will be staged, and a Hanbok promotion hall will be opened.
