Introducing the SOLO-SHOOTER SAFETY OFFICER (SSO) COURSE, exclusively available to members of the Rock County Rifle & Pistol Club in Milton. Led by expert instructors Dave Ostrowski, Keith Yates, Ron Davis, Brian Gray, Tony Pagano, and Ryan Hannah, this comprehensive course is designed to provide a thorough review of the Club's Milton Rifle/Pistol Range Safety Rules, Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures. The course also covers the specific rules and responsibilities of a Solo-Shooter Safety Officer. Taking place on December 2, 2023, the training will commence with a classroom session from 9 am to 10:30 am, followed by range time from 10:30 am to 12 pm at the Milton classroom and Milton Rifle/Pistol Ranges. Each student will receive a copy of the SSO rules guide and will be orally quizzed during the class to ensure comprehension. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded an SSO button, granting them the right to use the Milton Rifle/Pistol Range without the presence of a Range Safety Officer. However, please note that SSOs are not permitted to bring guests. The maximum number of students accepted for this course is 15, with a minimum requirement of 1 student to hold the class. There is no cost for Club members to attend. To be eligible for this course, students must possess the necessary firearms knowledge and skills, including safe operation, loading, unloading, and discharge. Please ensure you have received proper training before the class date. Bring your own handgun or rifle of choice along with 10 rounds of ammunition.
