"Inti Raymi," meaning Festival of the Sun, is a Quechua language spoken by the Incas and still used by many Cusco residents today. It celebrates the winter solstice (the shortest day of the year) in the Southern Hemisphere and marks the beginning of the Inca New Year. The temple was built in 1430 by the Inca Emperor Pachacuti, originally to honor the sun god Inti, express gratitude for the harvest, and pray for peace and good fortune in the coming year. Modern celebrations recreate ancient Inca rituals through grand processions, traditional ceremonies, lively dances, and music, showcasing Andean culture. Every year on June 24th, Cusco hosts a grand procession to celebrate Peru's Festival of the Sun (Inti Raymi), an event not to be missed. The procession consists of three main parts: the morning ceremony at Coricancha (Temple of the Sun), the coca leaf ceremony at the Plaza de Armas, and the most anticipated central ceremony at Sacsayhuaman.

The exhibition “Thoughts Are a Hybrid Garden” presents six decades of artistic and cultural work by Francesco Mariotti (born 1943 in Bern, Switzerland) and María Luy (born 1950 in Puerto Maldonado, Peru), showcasing their pioneering works that blend technology, collectivism, nature, and social responsibility. The exhibition is held in galleries at the Museum of Art and Contemporary Art (MALI) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Lima, and comprehensively presents the Mariotti-Luy Archives on loan from the Lima Museum of Art. This archive contains historical documents (photographs, clippings, magazines, posters, films, and other materials) from the 1960s to the present, covering several key periods of local and international cultural creation. In addition to these documents, the exhibition also features numerous works that reconstruct the artistic journeys of the two artists between Peru and Europe.
