Join Adventure Oban's Winter Night Ride as part of the Oban Winter Festival and embrace the thrill of cycling in the evening throughout the winter months. This social night ride will take you to and around Ganavan, where you can experience the beauty of the off-road blue trail created by the North Argyll Trail Association (NATA). To fully enjoy the ride, we recommend bringing a bike with appropriate tyres and suspension. After the ride, gather back at the Corran Halls for a post-ride blether, hot drink, and a biscuit to unwind and share your experiences. If you don't have access to the required equipment, let us know in your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you. Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of Oban Cycles' promotion on bike lights throughout the Winter Festival. Visit the shop and enjoy a discount on bike lights that will enhance your nighttime cycling experience. To ensure your safety, please remember to bring a helmet, a front bike light with at least 400 lumens, a rear bike light, a bike in good working condition, and hi-vis clothing. If you plan to bring children under 12, they must be accompanied by an adult. Each family group only needs to book one ticket. As part of Atlantis' Winter Warmer Programme in Oban, this session aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for both beginners and those looking to get back into open water swimming. Jo, from Wild Bathing, will be there to offer tips and information to help you feel confident in entering the water. However, there is no pressure to swim on the day, and the session will be short due to the time of year. The focus is on experiencing the mental and physical benefits of cold water immersion. After the dip, you'll have the opportunity to get changed in a portable changing room provided by Jo. To warm up, hot drinks and sweet treats will be available. Please note that this session is only suitable for those who can swim, and a health questionnaire and waiver will need to be signed upon booking. If you have any health concerns, a GP letter may be required for consent to enter the cold water. Jo will offer valuable tips and information to boost your confidence before entering the water. However, please note that there is no pressure to swim on the day, and considering the time of the year, the swimming duration will be limited. The primary goal is to allow participants to experience the mental and physical health benefits of cold water exposure. So, even if you're uncertain, we encourage you to join us and give it a try! After the invigorating dip, participants will have ample time to change clothes, as Jo will provide a portable changing room. To warm you up, hot drinks and sweet treats will be available. It's important to mention that this session is suitable for individuals who are able to swim. In order to ensure everyone's safety, a health questionnaire and waiver will be required upon booking. If you have any medical conditions listed in the form, a GP letter may be necessary for consent to enter cold water.
