About Sam Grisman Project The music that Sam Grisman heard his father David Grisman and Jerry Garcia make in the early ’90s in the house Sam grew up in (the simply titled “Jerry Garcia & David Grisman,” as just one example) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers his oldest and fondest musical memories. Sam is inspired by how much camaraderie, love, and joy is simply oozing out of his father and his best friend, but also how deeply they get underneath their favorite songs (originals, covers, and traditional/old-time tunes) and how expertly that material was curated. Sam's aim in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a container where he and his friends can showcase their genuine love and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music, the impact it has made on their own individual musical voices, and also to showcase the original music that their squad has to offer the world. Registration is at 9:00 AM and the tournament starts at 10:00 AM Sharp! There will be five rounds of qualifying. Each round will consist of two games. 7-5-3-1 each game for qualifying. If there is a tie for 24th place then we will have a 1 game tiebreaker on a game chosen by the tournament director. 24 people will qualify for Finals Group Finals Format- played on 3 machines per round. High seed will get choose of game or order of play and the next highest seed will pick their order and so on. You will only be able to pick the same game once in playoffs unless all the remaining games have been picked. In the final rounds, qualifying players play against each other in 4-player games. A 4-2-1-0-point system is used to determine the two top players in a group who advance to the next round. Points for the three machines in the round will be added, and the two best will advance to the next round. Every tournament entry gets an entry to win the ticket to Pinburgh. Description Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge (TKC) is an obstacle course event and fundraiser for Appleton Area School District's physical education departments featuring kid-friendly yet challenging obstacles. In previous years, the course was 1.55 miles and featured more than 30 obstacles that challenged the agility and strength of our participants. This year the course will be of similar distance with new twists and turns. The event will be held on the Highlands/Odyssey Elementary School, 2037 N. Elinor St. Appleton, WI 54914. The event date will be October 4, 2025. The TKC course will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m. Participants may complete the course whenever it is convenient for them. This event is for all kids age 5 through 13 years of age. Participants will travel through the course in spaced intervals to allow for flexibility in family schedules and maximum participation throughout the entire event. Participants will receive an event T-shirt. Cost of the event is $20 per participant. Parents can go with their child for free by signing a waiver the day of the event, but will not receive a T-shirt. After September 26, the cost will increase to $25 per participant. A portion of raised money will benefit every elementary student who attends the Appleton Area School District. Each school will be eligible for a grant to enhance their physical education programs. Our goal is to spotlight being physically active as well as raise money to advance healthy initiatives. Refund Policy: We follow the standard running industry policy. When you register for our event you are making a non-refundable purchasing decision and must agree to this policy. This policy stays in effect whether you or your child is injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, illness, etc. There are No Exceptions. Once you register for the event, we pay for race course services and items for you as if you will be attending the event, that are not recoverable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of our control such as a natural disaster or emergency. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We may also alter the distance of the course an number of obstacles at any time if required due to restrictions or impediments. You may transfer your entry to another individual. This may be done via a letter with contact information that matches your registration information as well as the name, address and phone number of the individual receiving the transfer. Individual who receives the transfer must bring a letter stating they received the transfer as well as fill out a registration and waiver when they arrive at the event.
