MOSAIC is back! After a successful debut in April 2024, MOSAIC returns for its second edition—bringing fresh stories, bold voices, and powerful performances to the stage. The format remains the same: four original English short plays, written by four playwrights and directed by four different directors, presented back-to-back in each show. The Four Plays of MOSAIC 2025 Our Stories, Our Stage – Directed by Elnie S Mashari, performed by ITE Theatrical Ensemble. In celebration of SG60, this performance weaves together excerpts from some of Singapore’s most iconic playwrights. It’s a vibrant tribute to our nation’s journey—honouring the past, questioning the present, and imagining a hopeful future. A heartfelt reminder of theatre’s power to tell our shared story. HER POLENG TALES – Presented by The Misfit Indigos, directed by Afiszan Amat. A haunting and immersive exploration of myth, ritual, and transformation. This performance uses Physical and Ritual Theatre to explore the balance between light and shadow, despair and hope, power and surrender. Raw, symbolic, and visually striking. Lies That Bind – Directed by Kaelen Ong. A dark improvisation about love, ambition, and betrayal. Jett and Stacey seem to have it all—until a single evening unravels everything, secrets, manipulation, and revenge. Sharp, twisted, and unfortunately funny, this piece questions what we’re willing to sacrifice for control. Weight of the Wordle – Written by Binoy Mohan, directed by Indranil Banerjee. Set in Singapore, this heartfelt story explores the ups and downs between parents and children—distance, growing older, and learning to let go. A mix of humour, love, and tension that many will recognise in their own lives. MOSAIC 2025 brings people together through the magic of theatre. It’s about different voices, bold ideas, and stories that stay with you long after the lights go down. 🎭 Four plays. One show. Endless emotions. Come laugh, reflect, and be moved.Don’t miss out—book your tickets now! Information Source: Openstage Singapore | eventbrite

Terpsichore, the Goddess of Dance In ancient legend, each of the fine arts had a goddess who represented them. Terpsichore was the goddess of dance and has been presented in several ideals in all forms of dance, from traditional cultural dance to the formalities of ballet. Ballet has a tradition that goes all the way back to the French count of Louis IVX, who envisioned himself as the Sun King and staged elaborate pageants and ballets to depict the higher nature of music, movement and performance. We have advanced a long way since then but the spectacle of dance performance has the same ideal in which it is to bring something to life that is both ideal and memorable. Looking Forward Looking Back: Year-end Art Journalling (No art skills necessary) As we wrap up the year, come join us for a creative and reflective afternoon at Monk's Brew Club as we wrap up the year with some art journalling. Note: You do not need to be an artist or have great art skills to attend this. Art will just be used as a medium of expression and you will be surprised at what it might unlock. Limited to 12 seats only to have an intimate space for sharing. What to expect: We will spend the first hour on relfecting on the year that was, and the next hour on our hopes and intention for 2025. Process will include guided visualization, followed by art-making, and then sharing/journalling. Collage material, watercolours, colour pencils and markers will be provided. The exploration can be deeply reflective and personal and we encourage you to budget some time to continue the process through some journalling after the session is done. You just need to show up, we will bring all the art supplies. If you have some favourite supplies, bring them along! Why you should attend: If you're the kind that likes to pause, reflect on the year that was, and spend some time dreaming and setting your intention for the year ahead, this is JUST the workshop for you. If you've never done something like that before, we urge you to try it - it can be a deeply enriching experience. Workshop hosted by Canvas of Calm, by facilitors experienced in Expressive Arts Therapy. Important: Since this session will be time-sensitive and it is a process that needs to be uninterrupted, it will not be possible to accommodate participants who are more than ten minutes late to the session.
