The FRIENDS of Waterloo Region Museums are thrilled to welcome you back to Starry Night, their holiday celebration at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village. Take a leisurely stroll through the lantern-lit village and drift back to Christmases long ago. Wander the quaint street, peek inside some of the charming historic buildings, and feel the gentle of this holiday season. Sip on apple cider, nibble on sweet treats and festive music and carols. Be sure to bring your camera has there’s a very special guest stopping by. Please note that some but not all buildings will be opened for this event, as we are still in the process of reopening Doon for the spring of 2026. The holidays aren’t all merry and bright! Join us for the Ghosts of Christmas Past and embrace the darkness of the year's longest night. Explore dark and ominous figures from holiday's past on a candlelit tour of our historic house. See you there, if you dare! This event is suitable for ages 16. Visits are scheduled for up to 60 minutes. Are you brave enough to creep through Schneider Haus at night? Visits are scheduled for up to 60 minutes, the last tickets of the evening will start at 9:30 pm and end at 10:30 pm. Suitable for those 16 and up. Join us at Schneider Haus for Winter Break camp! Each day is filled with engaging activities, and plenty of time outdoors all week long! Programming provides a mix of free and structured play, allowing children to explore, create, build, dig, discover, and make new friends. Campers must bring a lunch and snacks. Bundle up, grab your lab coat and beakers and step into our laboratory! This PD Day will be filled with crazy and wacky experiments as we get hands-on with Snow themed science in nature’s laboratory! Experience Snow Volcanoes and frozen bubbles as well as other amazing and unique indoor and outdoor activities. Campers must bring a lunch and snacks. Food will not be provided.
