Gymnastics Y1-Y6 | Angel Centre
Sports & Fitness
Welcome to Gymnastics Y1-Y6, a prestigious event designed for both beginners and advanced gymnasts to showcase their skills and represent their schools. This highly anticipated event will be held at the renowned Angel Centre in Tonbridge on March 20, 2024.
To ensure a seamless experience, the event will be divided into two sessions. The morning session is exclusively reserved for Tunbridge Wells Schools, while the afternoon session is dedicated to Tonbridge Schools. It is imperative that each school registers for the correct session to avoid any confusion.
Our esteemed judges, who are trained and provided by the esteemed Extension Gym Club, will be presiding over the event, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the scoring process. To participate, simply order one ticket for your school and kindly inform either myself or Adam about the number of teams you will be bringing.
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in three elements: Vault, Floor, and Bench. Please note that there is a specific routine for each element, which will be disclosed once you have successfully registered for the event. This is an exciting change from previous years, adding an element of surprise and anticipation.
While there is no mandatory requirement for boys to participate, we strongly encourage schools to include boys in their teams wherever possible. The top three teams in each category will be honored with prestigious awards, such as medals or rosettes.
Teams can consist of a mix of year groups, as the competition is based on skill execution rather than age group. Each team should be comprised of four individuals, and schools may enter a maximum of four teams, totaling 16 children.
It is important to reiterate that all children in the team must attempt all three elements: floor, vault, and bench, as per the resource pack that will be provided. Individual scores will be combined to determine the team score, and prizes will be awarded accordingly.
We kindly ask all participants and attendees to refrain from consuming food or drinks near the gymnastics equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for everyone.
To ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the competition, we have defined specific categories for participants. The Beginner category is designed for children who are not currently or have never been part of a gymnastics club, and they will attempt Level 1. The Intermediate category is for children within a school gymnastics club but not affiliated with a community club, and they will attempt Level 2. Lastly, the Advanced category is for competitive gymnasts who are members of a community club outside of school, and they will attempt Level 3. It is essential that each team completes the correct level corresponding to their designated category.
We appreciate your attention to these guidelines, as they ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. We warmly invite you to join us at Gymnastics Y1-Y6, where talent, dedication, and sportsmanship will be celebrated.
