Jan van Goyen, meester van het schilderen van landschappen, stond niet alleen bekend om zijn prachtige kunstwerken. Naast schilder was hij namelijk huisbaas, schoonvader van schilder Jan Steen, hield hij van een gokje én... was hij (al dan niet per ongeluk) een oplichter. Toch heeft hij in zijn veelzijdige leven iets blijvends nagelaten dat we in Den Haag met trots kunnen koesteren: zijn indrukwekkende panorama van de stad uit 1650. In dit bijzondere schilderij, dat een indrukwekkende breedte van 4,60 meter heeft, verbeeldt Van Goyen Den Haag op z'n best. Hij vereeuwigde de bijzondere gebouwen zoals de Grote of Sint Jacobskerk, de Gevangenpoort en het Binnenhof, maar draaide met wat creatief schuiven aan de werkelijkheid om de stad nóg aantrekkelijker te maken. Een ooievaar, trots staand op het land, doet de rest om de Haagse trots te benadrukken. Het stadsbestuur, dat dit schilderij speciaal liet maken om hun liefde voor Den Haag te tonen, was vast tevreden met het resultaat. Uitwisseling met je medetekenaars staat centraal. Per ochtend wordt er een accent gelegd op materiaal, techniek of onderwerp en vooral op: lekker tekenen! Er zijn basismaterialen aanwezig, zoals papier, potloden, kleurpotloden, oliepastel en inkt. Eigen tekenspullen meenemen mag natuurlijk ook. Data en tijden: Dinsdag 20 en 27 augustus, 3 en 17 september van 10.00-12.00 uur. (Let op: 10 september is er geen tekencafé.) Op zijn vierde jaar kreeg Arie Vuyk een bijna – dood ervaring. Terug op aarde begon hij zich te ergeren aan augurken, Veenendaal, musea... Vijftig jaar later viert Arie in het theater zijn bijna – dood ervaring met liedjes, conferences, typetjes en met u. Hij zal een nieuw specerij introduceren en stilstaan bij het bijna vergeten fenomeen View Master. En als u uitgelachen bent is dat de hemel op aarde. Arie Vuyk won drie cabaretfestivals, verscheen op televisie en speelde in New York en Reykjavik in het Engels. Tijdens de Kinderboekenweek van 2 tot en met 13 oktober 2024 lezen we over personages die een tikkeltje tegendraads en lekker eigenwijs zijn. Duik in een boek en vier het dwars zijn. Ga mee naar werelden waar drie maal drie zes is, waar je niet naar je ouders hoeft te luisteren en waar je de hele dag ijs kunt eten. Workshop Houd jij ook zo van schilderen en creatief bezig zijn? In deze workshop help jij mee met het maken van lekker eigenwijze decorstukken voor de Kinderboekenweek! Dus trek iets aan wat vies mag worden en laat je eigenwijze kant zien.
