Il tutto verrà spiegato tramite un potente PowerPoint, tecnologia che il Dottor Pira ha usato per primo con scopo ricreativo. L'incontro è gratuito e fa parte del ciclo Learning from the Present che vuole stimolare Genova con incontri ed esperienze di cultura contemporanea in diversi luoghi del Levante, il quartiere più vecchio della città più vecchia del continente più vecchio del mondo. Gli incontri sono pensati come stimolo per chi desidera costruire un presente e un percorso non scontato, possibilmente in modo non estrattivo e rispettoso di se stessi, degli altri e del pianeta. Sappiamo che sono incontri lontani dai luoghi abiutalmente deputati o immaginati per queste cose ma - dice chi è venuto - ne vale la pena; questa volta saremo nella splendida serra/palestrina nel Parco di Nervi, all altezza di villa Grimaldi a Capolungo, utilizzata abiutalmente dagli amici della ProLoco. Nota Poetica: il parco chiude al tramonto e quindi potrete entrare da qualsiasi ingresso (arrivando in treno a Nervi o col bus 517), ma a fine evento usciremo tutti insieme da una porticina sulla passeggiata Anita Garibaldi godendoci il mare... Ma chi è il Dottor Pira? Maurizio Piraccini, in arte Dr. Pira, è nato a Tortona nel 1977. Grafico, animatore, illustratore e docente, realizza fumetti dalla metà degli anni Novanta. Oltre ad aver creato I Fumetti della Gleba – il più longevo sito di webcomics in italia, attivo dal 1997 - come fumettista ha realizzato numerose serie per XL di Repubblica, Vice Magazine, l’Internazionale e Smemoranda, e ha collaborato con linus, Rolling Stone, Pic Nic e Hobby Comics. Come scrittore ha tenuto rubriche fisse su XL di Repubblica, Link - Idee per la televisione e Nero Magazine. Come autore televisivo ha scritto per i programmi Lorem Ipsum (Deejay TV) e Top 5 (Rai 5). Ha realizzato storyboard per il cinema (Io sono l’amore di Luca Guadagnino nel 2009) e per la pubblicità. Nel 2015 ha curato come direttore artistico e animatore le scenografie video per il “Pop-Hoolista Tour” di Fedez e nel 2016 per il tour “Piccoli Energumeni” di Elio e le Storie Tese. Nel 2016 autoproduce L'Almanacco dei Fumetti della Gleba, che raccoglie tutta la sua produzione di storie brevi in quasi 900 pagine, ha venduto 2000 copie in un mese e mezzo con il metodo Prima o Mai. Da febbraio a luglio 2021 pubblica una striscia settimanale per l’Internazionale. Un autoritratto dell’Autore viene selezionato, all’interno del progetto Fumetti nei Musei del MIBACT, per essere aggiunto alla collezione permanente di autoritratti del Museo degli Uffizi a Firenze. Attualmente insegna Animazione presso lo IED di Roma.
