Book your ticket to attend Lament, a unique performance at the Bank of Ireland building created by Polish artist Zuza Golińska in collaboration with the Belfast Cathedral Choir.For Lament, Zuza Golińska explores the deep emotional connection we can have to architecture. During her time in Belfast, the artist was drawn to the transitional states of many of the historic buildings in the city centre and ideas surrounding the public monument. In this artwork, she wanted to create and capture a moment to mark the passing of time through song and has researched the form of the traditional lament as a mode for doing so. To create Lament, Zuza is collaborating with choir master Jack Wilson and members from the St Anne’s Cathedral Choir to perform a lament to the historical Art Deco-style Bank of Ireland building as it awaits a multi-million pound renovation to become the Belfast Stories visitor attraction. Please arrive at 6.45pm. The performance starts at 7pm and finishes at 7.30pm. Please wear sensible footwear and dress warmly. Unfortunately there is limited access to this building due to steps and staircases. Please note that no toilet facilities are available on site. Lament is part of Red Sky at Night, a festival of new art commissions by artists from Palestine, Greece, Poland, Thailand and Belfast have responded to the city and have explored a range of stories relating to the city’s past, present and future.
