Lao That Luang Festival | Vientiane
Celebration
The Pha That Luang Festival (or simply Pha That Luang Festival) is held annually from late October to mid-November, corresponding to the full moon of the twelfth lunar month. In 2025, the festival took place from November 3rd to 5th. The festival is primarily held at two locations: the first evening at Wat Si Muang, and the following two days at Pha That Luang.
The Pha That Luang Pagoda, Laos' most iconic and spiritually significant ancient site, bears witness to the Lao people's unwavering resilience and deep-rooted faith. It is believed to contain sacred relics of the Buddha, including a lock of hair and a fragment of his sternum. The history of this pagoda reflects the evolution of Lao spirituality.
