Hungary's "Bathhouse Nights" is one of Hungary's most distinctive national summer events—on the same night, dozens of thermal baths, outdoor swimming pools, and water parks across the country extend their hours, turn on their lights, and add music and performances, transforming daytime family bathing into a romantic nighttime celebration. Hungary is a world-renowned spa country (with thousands of thermal baths throughout the country, and its capital Budapest known as the "Spa Capital"). Since its inception in 2010 by the Hungarian Bathhouse Association (Magyar Fürdőszövetség), this event has become a signature summer tourism activity. 2026 will mark its 17th edition.

From August 9th to 25th this year, cultural institutions and embassies from 16 countries, including Spain, South Korea, and Finland, will bring their favorite films to Margaret Island. This year's highlights include the return of France and Slovakia to the screening list, and the addition of Latvia and Turkey as new members. Most films will be screened in their original languages ​​with Hungarian subtitles, while Japanese films will have English subtitles. You can bring your own food and drinks; a blanket is recommended.
