I arrived at the airport and waited for 30 minutes without calling. When picking up the car, they asked if I had purchased the Trip Premium plan. I had, so they didn't try to sell me any other insurance. The whole process of picking up the car took only 5 minutes! Returning the car was quick; the staff only circled the car once, completing the process in less than 30 seconds! The car is very new and has adaptive cruise control, but since it's not snow season, the snow tires are noisy and fuel-inefficient.

With just over 50,000 miles, it's considered a new car. The Toyota Aqua is a small car, even smaller than the Yaris. We had two large and two small suitcases, and we had to fold down one of the rear seats to fit them. So, if you're traveling with more than three people, don't choose this model. While it's small, it's a hybrid car, and it even has automatic steering, which is quite impressive. From the airport to Rusutsu, Lake Toya, Hakodate, and back to Muroran, it only took less than half a tank of gas. From there, to Furano, Asahidake, and back to the airport, it covered nearly 1,000 kilometers on just one tank of gas. This car rental company doesn't have a contact desk at the airport; you have to contact them via messaging apps. The same Chinese person is always there for pick-up and drop-off. The parking lot is difficult to find, so remember to record the location on Google Maps when you pick up the car. Otherwise, you'll end up searching for the car for over half an hour, like when I returned it, only to have the contact person text me the location. The service is good, and the price is reasonable. The company is a bit small, but those who speak Chinese but not Japanese might consider it.

Although the car I received wasn't the model I wanted to rent, it was of the same class and in fairly good condition. It barely fit our family of five (three large, two small suitcases, and a stroller). Before picking up the car, you can add a line to the rental company. They offer Chinese-speaking customer service. After arriving at the airport, contact the rental company first. They'll direct you to the designated exit to wait for the shuttle bus. There's also a Chinese-speaking staff member at the company. If you're hesitant, you can buy insurance directly from the rental company, saving you the hassle of collecting receipts, handling claims, and paying upfront. Before the trip, the rental company staff emphasized the importance of being vigilant against animals darting out from the road. Fortunately, the trip was safe and collision-free. I'll rent a car from them again next time I visit Hokkaido.
