Just realised that the insurance taken here is not with hertz and it will not be supported by them. We might get an issue if we get into a breakdown out of Germany. We were upgraded to an suv instead of a merc as as told that our original car booked is unable to drive over to Czech which we can’t get an understanding and can only take what was given.

I bought from trip.com when I had problem making payment directly at the car rental company website. The advantages of doing through trip.com includes : easy payment; good car selection and comparable price with a direct rental, if not cheaper.
The disadvantages are: I got ripped off by ticking the GPS/carplay box. As well insurance was through RentalCover while I was charged with damages from the car company itself. I was not aware of this and did not have the peace of mind after a damage was discovered by the car rental company.

Condition of the car was amazing! The staff was very helpful and clear in the instructions. The only misunderstanding which could have been avoided is the “Fuel Purchase Option” that is charged by Hertz by default. Though the full tank policy is spelt out, Hertz will charge a certain amount as fuel purchase as deposit at the point when the rental commences. The charge was not made clear by Trip.com beforehand and that caused confusion on the ground. Other than that, very happy with the entire experience overall :)
