I rarely write reviews, but I have to give a shout-out to ME Car Rental. It was absolutely fantastic, 10 stars. Customer service contacted us immediately after we placed our order. From pickup to car pickup, everything was quick and efficient. They even reminded us of our driver's license and driving precautions, which was incredibly reassuring. On the way back, they even directed us to refuel and arranged for us to be dropped off at a nearby bus station. The customer service was incredibly attentive, polite, and helpful, always replying to any questions we had via Line. The dealership replaced my car with a hybrid (I think the original wasn't hybrid), and it was really economical. I only added 3200 yen in five days. If you're going to Okinawa, definitely drive a hybrid or electric car. It would be even better if it had ETC (Electronic Toll Collection), as some smaller interchanges only accept ETC in the afternoon.

This Nissan e-power hybrid is brand new, with over 20,000 kilometers on it. It shows some damage on the exterior, but it's very fuel-efficient. I rented it for six days in Okinawa and used just one tank of gas, for a total of 4,800 yen. The trunk can hold two large pieces of luggage. A free shuttle bus was provided to get there, but traffic was very congested on the way out.
