The quality of car is good and easy to pick up. However, I suggested now to add extra protection via Trip. Com. As you can add protection on site. Paying for insurance at car company you don’t have to pay for and damage, the Japan rental car company will settle all the procedures. If you are using Trip. Com protection you may need to pay and claim afterwards, which may take extra effort.

You only need insurance from either trip.com or Nippon Rent-A-Car. I ended up buying both insurances because I didn't understand the terms, which ended up wasting money. I recommend Nippon Rent-A-Car's insurance. You can buy the insurance when you check in on the day.
