I haven't even checked in or been to the hotel. I called to ask for a late check out and got a load of abuse from a really aggressive man called Horsen or Hussain or something. I told him I didnt like his tone aonhe replied ”well if you dont like my attitude or our conditions you shouldn't have made the booking in the first place”, I asked to speak with a manager to which he replied ”I am the manager so its tough”, I said that I was going to proceed in making a complaint to expedia about this to which he said ”its a non refundable reservation so your loss really”, I said that I would pop by the hotel the next day to talk about it in person to which he replied ”if you come through the doors I will call the police we dont want business of people like you that threatens to complain and give a bad review”. I think they are struggling, Gordon Ramsey its time to step in I think. OMG do not reserve here. I am trying to get a refund.

We made a very last minute booking for this hotel, taking advantage of the meal deal offer. On arrival Mark on reception was very friendly and welcoming. We ate at the pub attached to the hotel where Paul was really helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, he was chatty and polite with all the guests despite being the only waiter and being super busy. The food was lovely! At breakfast the next morning Jan was just a delight. She was helpful and chatty whilst being rushed off her feet but she served guests with the biggest smile. Again the freshly cooked breakfast was delicious. The staff made it a really pleasant stay. It would have been a 5 star review if there hadn’t been a big mark on the duvet cover. Other than that the room was clean.

There is no breakfast, but there is a family room with 3 beds, suitable for families, free parking, his family's steak package is particularly affordable, a large plate of 10 pounds, one can not eat at all, the only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning, a bit stuffy

I chose this hotel as I was meeting up with friends and the location was great. The price was very expensive but the location was the deciding factor. Upon arrival the woman who checked me in was polite and helpful. Check in was very straight forward as ive experienced at other Premier Inn hotels. The room was room 1, right next to the staff office, and the doorway to reception. It was a very clean room with all the amenities I needed for a nights stay. The bed was very comfy and there was plenty of room for me to feel at home and relaxed. What is worth noting, is if you stay in room 1 be prepared for a disturbed morning if you're wanting to treat yourself to a lie in. Being right by the reception door (that leads to rooms) and by the staff office, you hear a lot of opening and closing of doors in the morning as people head to and from breakfast, cleaners begin their shift and other staff. When I say you can hear conversations, I mean you hear every spoken word. This put a dampener on the stay, being as I'd paid £120 for the room. I also believe I left some belongings in the room, and I have called the hotel numerous times to query this, unfortunately no one has ever picked up the telephone, which is a shame because the things I left I use for work. Overall I was happy with the check in process and the cleanliness of the room, just dissatisfied with the location of the room I was given. Everything else i can't fault.

My room smelt incredibly musty and after spending time trying to ascertain its origins it was obvious the base of the bed, headboard and mattress contain spores. So essentially my room had a mouldy bed. Strong musty odours are an indication of mould growth. The stairs leading up to the room smell of it too. I have had experience with mould so I know the signs. It isn't always visible especially if there's a leak somewhere, floorboards, behind walls etc. There does appear to be the beginnings of it forming at the back of the wardrobe. I had allergy-like symptoms such as headaches, sore throat, itchy eyes, particularly congestion of sinuses which consequently made my time at the property extremely uncomfortable to the point of not being able to sleep properly in the bed. I felt obliged to stay with it being fully booked and with very limited availability elsewhere. It is of paramount importance to act for the health of future guests! Mould is very toxic. There seems to be damp and mould issues at their other hotel in Marple judging by the recent comment on another booking site. The ultimate letdown for me (as if the mould wasn't bad enough!) was Spencer's abysmal welcoming and behaviour (sorry just saying it as I see it!) This has been commented on in previous reviews. A friendly lady answered the phone when I rang upon arrival who I am presuming was the owner, Lorraine. She allowed me to access the safe to get a key to let myself in because of the bad weather as Spencer hadn't arrived yet. I waited half an hour and that's when he came. No greeting or warm welcome just a coldly expressed ”You're early” No, I had arranged by special request with whoever confirmed the booking to arrive between 13:00-14:00 and they happily confirmed this request by email. He excused himself to the office to ring what sounded like Lorraine and expressed his unhappiness that I was there. ”Tough, she will have to wait!” he responded rather rudely. I was only stood in the hallway. Appalling. I showed him the email confirming the time of arrival but he kind of laughed it off and no apologies were made. Spencer went up to make up my room. When I was instructed to follow him up he didn't offer to help carry my case. He couldn't get away quick enough as soon as he showed me the bathroom and bedroom. Said nothing about contacting if there were any issues with anything. I had a terrible first night's sleep with endless noise from selfish guests banging doors all night and a screaming little girl with verbally abusive parents in the house next door. Sounded like they were physically abusing her too. Never heard anything like it. I felt so concerned I very nearly contacted the police. They could be heard screaming at her again at 9:30 pm -11 that very same night. I was reticent to speak with anyone about the guesthouse after reading through the many reviews and seeing how they typically respond. The icing on the cake was Spencer letting himself into my room o

We stayed here 1 night after flying into Manchester airport late. The GPS took us to the hotel, but we could not find out how to get into the hotel. So frustrating. There is a taxi rank outside which serves the railway station opposite, and the hotel. No where to pull up and offload luggage. No hotel parking either. At 11:00 pm, after an international flight, this was the last thing we needed. Finally, we learned we had to park in the multi-story parking lot, and drag our luggage across to the hotel. Once we were in the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff. Our room was lovely, and bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. I have food sensitivity issues, and the manager at breakfast was very helpful in guiding me as to what I could and couldn't eat. Food was good. Nice experience despite initial confusion.
